Too often Ontario rescues allow inappropriate care and handling of high drive dogs. I see it often. Instead of correcting a highly trainable dog with aversive tools, let's remember: further trauma is not the solution for already traumatized individuals. Positive reinforcement is the ONLY quadrant that should be utilized with rescue animals 💜🐾

Here is the face behind this organization!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Georgia and I am 27 years old. This is my rescue Olive 💓 I came up with this idea after seeing other communities have something similar and knowing how hard life is right now I thought I would open one in Lindsay to help those that need it! We run soely on donations and I get a large donation from the The Kibble Project as well. We are not funded and get no money from anyone. This is soely my own doing and any money that is used comes from my pocket. I have always loved animals and have been a foster for cats and dogs many times. This is a judgement free zone and you can use it as much or as little as needed. 🙂

HSKL remains dedicated to our community’s stray, lost, owned, abandoned, neglected, injured and sick animals.

If you know of an animal at risk that would normally be reported to the City, and the City’s new service level excludes that animal, HSKL will still care for it at the shelter. Call us 705-878-4618

FOUND: Cat found January 2, 2023 on Durham St near Nayoro Park, Lindsay. White and brindle colour domestic short hair, male, no collar, no chip. Approximately 3 years old, minor injury to rear paw.
