Lil' Britches micro camps

ages : 4-7

Location: Behind the Bit Equestrian

Little Britches micro camp is a full filled half day camp with lots of fun activities, geared to our younger pony enthusiasts.
No horse experience required.
The lil' britches will learn about horse husbandry, grooming and of course have the opportunity to ride a pony !
We will have arts and crafts and lots of fun filled indoor/outdoor activities.

March break camp
2025
March 10th- 14th
930am-4pm

Age: 5 - 12

Cost: $375/week
**$200 deposit required to secure your spot and remaining balance paid no later then March 1st. **

*Individual day camps
$75/day (min. 2 days required) must be paid in full upon booking.

**Our camps do have limited spaces**

March break camp is a fun filled week at the farm learning all about horse husbandry.
Each day children will have a one hr western riding lesson, hands on sessions caring for, grooming, handling horses/ponies educational work sheets and fun games, crafts and activities.

** Campers need to provide own lunches and refreshments (we do have a fridge and microwave on property for use) **

We are happy to announce we are going to be offering new and exciting programs at our facility as well as revamping some of our tried and true well loved programs. Please make sure to book your spots asap as spaces are limited in each program. We have already started booking.

**NEW PROGRAMS **

January 2025

* Pony club -(non riding program, requires min. 4 kids to run program)
Ages 8-12
Time : biweekly Saturdays Jan 4-March 1st (5 classes) 12pm-2pm
Cost: $180
This is a great club to meet other horse enthusiastic children and enjoy spending time with our ponies, learning hands on day to day and fun activities about ponies. Each member will be assigned their own pony for the duration of this program. (Limited spaces )
Children will learn the fundamentals of grooming, how to properly and safely catch and lead a pony, how to provide basic care, as well as some fun hands on obstacle courses with our ponies in our indoor arena finishing our class in our warm room indoors for more pony related activities, and crafts.
Members meet once every two weeks for two hrs.

March 2025

*The homeschoolers experience :
(non riding program, requires min. 6 children to run program)
Starting March 19th- April 30th (4 classes)
biweekly, Wednesdays
Time : 10am-12:30pm
Price: $140/4 classes, (parents/chaperones attend free)
Open to all ages
This is a program strictly for homeschoolers. This program takes place during the week and is an educational program to teach individuals the ins and outs of the day to day care required to tend to horses and ponies. This is a hands on program which includes but is not limited to animal science, facility operations and management, rehabilitation process , practical knowledge of horse care.

Jan 2025.

*Private horse back riding Western lessons Ages 12-16
$50/per lessons, lessons are prepaid and booked in sets of 4 or 6
We will begin offer private lessons
These are individual private one on one lessons. Suited for beginners to intermediate riders.

January 2025

* Private pony riding lessons ages 6-10
$45/per class, lessons are prepaid and booked in sets of 4, or 6. These are Individual private one on one lessons.
Each child will learn the basic fundamentals to western riding.

March 2025

* Paddock pals. Starting March 2nd
Ages 2-4 (non riding )
Time : 1:20pm-2pm
Price : $ 125/4 sessions
Our paddock pals is a very popular program. Paddock pals is our version of parents and tots. A wonderful bonding opportunity for parents and tots interacting with our ponies. This is a wonderful introduction to ponies before deciding to invest in riding lessons. (Our riding programs start at 3 yrs old) parents and tots spend time learning to groom, and handle our ponies gradually moving onto learning to lead their pony through a fun yet simple obstacle course and fun games !

March 2025

* P*e Wees - Saturdays starting March 1st
Ages : 3-5 yrs
Time slots: 11am-12pm, 6pm- 7pm
Price: $160/4 classes
P*e Wees has been a fundamental and extremely popular program we've been offering for over 12 yrs!
P*e wees is the next step up from Paddock Pals. P*e Wees is an introductory riding program for kids ages 3-5 yrs old.
Children are assigned a pony and handler who assist them for each class (parents are required to assist if needed) . Children will remain ona lead line in this program due to age and our safety protocols.
P*e Wees learn grooming and basic western riding skills through hands on learning and fun mounted games.
There are two classes we offer on Saturdays 11am-12pm and an evening class 6pm-7pm each class has limited spaces and on a first come first serve basis.

January 2025

* Buckaroos- starting fridays January 3rd, 2025 and Sundays Jan. 5th/2025
Ages : 6-10yrs
Time : Fridays 6pm -7pm,
Sundays 11am-12pm
Price: $ 160/4 classes
Buckaroos is the next level into our graduated riding program. (Paddock pals, p*e wees, and Buckaroos)
Buckaroos learn the fundamentals of western riding and those who have already completed our other programs continue to build on their current riding skills. Buckaroos start out on a lead line and the goal is to have them riding independently by the last class. Buckaroos complete obstacle courses and play mounted games to strengthen their riding abilities and improve motor, auditory and cognitive skills. Buckaroos builds confidence and independence.

Q UPDATE:

Quatara AKA "Q" is settling in well she was very calm last night as well as this morning.

She was taken into her quaratine then out to enjoy the fresh air and sun, we put a mid-weight winter blanket on her due to her age and the brisk cool breeze coming across the fields at the farm.

She is enjoying her time outside, and she has a very deeply bedded stall waiting for her this evening for turn in.

A NEW ARRIVAL...

PLEASE WELCOME QUATARA AKA Q !

She arrived yesterday Nov. 12.
She is a 20+ yr old ex jumping mare.

She has been well cared for by her previous owner he just became to old to continue caring for his herd.

She was extremely stressed out upon her arrival so she was placed in a well bedded stall in the quiet of the barn to allow her some time to adjust to the sounds, smells and being in a new location.

Yesterday evening she had settled and was doing well.

Q will be on quaratine for 14 days as per usual with new arrivals. We ask that you do not approach or touch her during this time.

We will be getting all important details once she settles a bit more ..
Weight, height, body score assessment as well as worming her.

Thank you to everyone that did come to our event this weekend , unfortunately it was pretty quiet all weekend, we feel the weather played a big part in that.

Our vendors were absolutely wonderful the food truck was fantastic ! (I will be listing all our vendors etc in a seperate post, please check them out and show some support )

Thank you to my amazing team of volunteers who worked tirelessly all week getting the barn ready for the event and their amazing work over the weekend at the event we always get such amazing compliments about the team from vendors and attendees alike!

So proud and thankful for each of you !

Come enjoy our Christmas Bazaar Sunday Nov. 10th our last day !

Excuse the conversations, giggling and jokes .. it was an absolutely fun filled, happy and truly positive day we enjoyed with our clients, students, their families and our team! We are a very relaxed fun family oriented facility... What an amazing job Lulu did with only the second time being in a group setting with so many distractions .. great job! Thank you to our amazing team who worked so hard with her and continue to and Jodi for allowing her daughter Holland to be our helper when training its greatly appreciated. Our students Rylee and Evan did absolutely amazing today completely off line! Way to go guys .. baby steps but your all doing so well.. Fun times playing red light , green light at the end of class!

Ringo, Jack Jack and Waffles.

WAFFLES UPDATE : Waffles has been doing absolutely amazing since leaving the deep muddy property we were on previously as susupected the property was a huge problem and causing waffles and lily further challenges. We have not had one single issue with either ponys feet since our arrival at this new local. Waffles is happy and full of himself we are so excited to have our little Waffles back to his happy little self!

Jack Jack update: Jack Jack has been with us a week tomorrow and has settled in pretty well. Due to his history of abuse he is very skiddish and unsure of ppl but with patience, a calm voice and some krunch (he loves food lol )he is pretty easy to catch .. he's starting to realize BTB is a pretty nice place to live !
