Gord of Windsong Ranch took a break from our usual Trail ride schedule yesterday!
It was a pleasure to join the working trail show at Brightside Equestrian! Many wonderful competitors and all were welcoming and friendly!
Gord is pleased with both his mounts yesterday, winning a 1st place on Yukon and a 3rd place on Monty!
Thank you Brightside for hosting such a fun event!

Cookie & Josie have built a great bond at Windsong Ranch! Josie had the last of her weekly lessons on Friday and took Cookie home after 7 weeks of training at Windsong, and enjoyed riding her confidently around her own property!
We are looking forward to watching these two grow together!
Cookie is coming along nicely in her training/desensitization! Lots of new things introduced in a calm positive manner.

Trailer-in lessons for training! Mary brought her 2 lovely Fjords who are still learning, so she brought Cleo & Pebbles. Gord worked with and rode Cleo while Mary rode Pebbles...lots of postive new experiences at Windsong Ranch! Lovely Fjords!

Our riding lessons are geared to getting out on the trails! Non competitive environment.
Youth or Adult group sessions available, limited private sessions also available.
Lessons start at the beginning of each month, monthly rates.
Also, parent & youth, couples or friends sessions! Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays!

Geared to recreational trail riding weekly, all year round! When it isn't nice enough to ride outside, we learn indoors about communication, precision/drill riding, navigating obstacles, maneuvering our horses to open gates, round penning, or anything that interests the group.
A monthly commitment, much like leasing or part boarding a horse, is required. Ride the same sweet well trained horse every week at the same time! Or even twice a week!
Beginners - Intermediate group or Intermediate - advanced group available.
Wednesday afternoons, Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings, and coming this summer on Sunday afternoons, if there is enough interest!
Some of our sweet horses available are:
Splash, Cleo, Lucy, Gypsy, Misfit, Monty, Nugget, Jeronimo, Dawson and new this year is Cash!
Our lessons teach you all you need to know to have fun with horses!
Recreational horse fun! Learning to communicate effectively and be a good partner with a horse! This carries over into human relationships as well!
We offer small groups, and private western lessons, all with a goal of getting out and enjoying the trails!
The last couple of years, parent & youth sessions have become popular! Enjoy time with you child or teenager doing something interesting together!

An assessment session is great, it gives you an opportunity to see what we are about and ensure it is a fit!
Fancy is a sweetheart! She would suit any EAL programs! Light riding would be fine for Fancy (a little arthritis in her front knees) she is well started over obstacles riding and in hand.
She is 8 yrs old, 15 hh appendix mare.

Willow is as kind as they come! She is still a young horse. She would be suitable for a teenager or adult looking to start a long show career in jumping or dressage!
Percheron/paint cross 6 yrs old 16.1 hh and super healthy! Bonds to her human well!

Baler twine bits, every self-respecting horse person knows these little bits of twine end up everywhere! Pockets, the feeders, the washing machine, in your socks or down your shirt. Little things, but they can be incredibly annoying! A dear friend and I were discussing how the "little bits" in everyday life can be incredibly annoying too. And it's often the little bits that end up causing the biggest reactions! I have learned that the little bits we overreact to are telling us that we are in a big state of overwhelm. When the littlest things are causing us to react in an unhealthy way, or a way that we wouldn't normally if we weren't already in a state of stress, it's probably a good idea to borrow a trait from our equine friends. Stay mindful. Stay present. Being mindful brings awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. And helps you examine what's going on in your life that's causing you to overreact. Remember to take care of yourself, because you matter, too.
Willow enjoys the precision/drill riding! She is still available! She is a complete sweetheart!
Fancy is learning more about obstacles with a rider now..she is looking for her own human!
Unfortunately she isn't a fit for our programs at Windsong.
She is a sweetheart and loves attention! A perfect EAL or parelli, she loves being with you! Green broke to ride, and doing great! Light riding due to some arthritis in here front knees.
