With the increasing cold temperatures I am seeing a great deal of mice activity. You can do many things to prevent mice entry into your home. Check your door seals and make sure they're in good shape without any gaps or holes. Mice only need a gap the size of your pinky to enter your home. Check for any holes in your foundation or cracks also make sure that any vents exiting your home have screen covers. If you see mice droppings make sure to clean them up right away as they carry bacteria and can make you sick.

We have some tips for you.

Check your cupboards folks, we have some hungry critters looking for a nice warm pantry with crumbs, it's always worse when the cold season arrives.

To avoid any pantry pest infestations, Abell and the NPMA recommend following these best practices:

• Store food items in insect-proof containers such as glass or
plastic, with tightly sealed lids.
• Do not mix old and new food items, as this can spread an
infestation.
• Never purchase groceries if the packaging is broken.
• Keep cabinets, pantries and countertops clean and free of
crumbs.
• Dispose of any food that is expired or shows signs of a pest
infestation.

Tips on how to stay safe from pests this summer:

-Mosquito activity peaks around dawn and dusk, so avoid the outdoors at those times to reduce the likelihood of getting bitten.
-Be sure to apply an EPA-registered insect repellent with at least 20% DEET to deter biting pests.
-Wearing long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes when outdoors, especially in wooded areas or tall grasses, can help prevent tick bites.
-Keep tree branches and other plants cut back from the house to deter pests.
-Avoid wearing cologne, perfumes, or other sweet-smelling products, as these could attract stinging insects and mosquitoes.
-If you suspect an infestation of any kind on your property, be sure to reach out to us for assistance.
