Did you ever wish you had a beautiful keepsake of your furry best friend?? Well now you can have one and help senior dogs at the same time. You can have a beautiful professionally glazed personalized Ceramic Paw Print Impression that you will have as a keepsake of your dog for the rest of your life! Mike & Grant's Senior Dog Sanctuary is teaming up with the Yarmouth Community Pottery Studio and Dogwood Lodge to fundraise for a wood stove to help us keep the senior doggies warm this winter. It went down to -40 last winter when the power was out and we don't want to go through that again. For only $50 (no tax) you can have a beautiful glossy glazed pottery paw impression of your furry best friend. You get to choose the colour and we can personalize it with your dogs name and holes for an ornament at no extra charge. We will be at Dogwood Lodge Wednesday October 11 from 1pm - 3pm taking paw print impressions. If your dog is already there for grooming or daycare that is perfect but if not you can call 902-307-6333 to make an appointment during that time. If you cannot make this date and time you are welcome to make an appointment to come to the pottery studio to do the impression.

Hey everyone! Less than 2 weeks to the workshop I hope everyone is as excited a I am! John is coming in on Wednesday the 13th and we will get together and discuss the final setup plans for the venue for the weekend. Thursday the 14th during the day we will set up the venue so anyone who will be here Thursday that can help setting up the tables etc. it would be greatly appreciated. At 6pm I have arranged for our group to have the entire upstairs at Rudders a local restaurant/pub for a meet-and-greet. This will be super fun and a great way for all of us to meet and say hi before the workshop the address is 96 Water Street. Friday the 15th is our first workshop day and we start at 9am and go to 4/5pm. Friday is hands on making the test tiles and mixing glazes. Friday right after the workshop I will take the test tiles and fire them in the kilns to be ready to go over the results for Sunday's class. Saturday we will be starting at 9am and going to 4/5pm it is a lecture day. Sunday we will be starting at 10am and going to approximately 3pm. We will be going over our results this is the most exciting part. I will have a coffee maker and kettle out so bring a mug I'm sure you won't have a problem finding one. 😂 Because there are so many of us we are going to need 2-3 more coffee makers if anyone can bring one please let me know. If you have a scale either triple beam or digital please bring it. John said the scale you have must be accurate to 0.1 grams as we have to weigh very small amounts of glaze chemicals like 0.2 grams and 0.5 grams. We need one scale per two people so please bring them if you have access to them. Bring a OSHA approved (P100) respirator or dust mask and a big enough zip lock bag to keep it in with your name on it many look the same and get mixed up at large workshops. Safety glasses are highly recommended as well and latex or nitrile gloves. Please bring an immersion blender preferably one that fits into a solo cup and bring extension cords for those blenders. Bring a notebook and pen or pencil for taking notes. If you have a copy of one of John's books bring it so he can sign it for you he will not have any for sale at this workshop so get on Amazon and get one if you want before the workshop. The venue has a full kitchen so if the group is on board we can talk about a pancake breakfast or making breakfast together Sunday morning before the class.

We have to define what we mean by make bake or grow. To me it is totally different taking a raw ingredient like clay, strawberries or wool and creating something with it than taking a pre made finished product and adding a few embellishments to it that is not make bake or grow. If that were the case someone could buy frozen pizza's, add some sausage and pepperoni to it and call it make, bake or grow. Would we approve someone who bought pre-popped popcorn and added different flavoured seasoning salts to it to sell?
