We are all working so hard to get some of our dogs adopted . Here’s just “some “ of our current roster of dogs available for adoption. If you’re looking to expand your family or find a companion for your current dog please consider adopting . We have so many in need. Please reach out if you’re seriously considering adding to your pack . All these dogs deserve a home and to be happy . Some of them have been here with us a long time and we want nothing more then to tell them it’s your turn you’ve been adopted !!!. Think about giving one of them a chance . It won’t be easy at times , it will be an adjustment and we highly recommend training to make this successful. Please don’t give up. Some will test the waters some will fit right in . Just know if you don’t give up you will be rewarded with a very grateful happy addition. To adopt any of these amazing dogs please pm our page our adoption committee works tirelessly to make sure you’re matched with the right fit for your family .

We can’t thank all of our wonderful volunteers enough for all they do to help make our shelter better . It’s definitely not easy and it’s a lot of work and it’s never ending and it can certainly be overwhelming at times . The group of volunteers that we have are all so dedicated and determined to keep us going . Some of our volunteers came together after work this evening to fix our issues with our outdoor kennels . What an amazing job guys!!

This is Benji . He’s a Jack Russell mix . He was one of the dogs who was abandoned in a house . This boy deserves to find the best home . Although he was some Jack Russell traits he’s still very sweet boy . He does get along with the other dogs but can be bossy . Maybe he would benefit more being the only dog in the home . For more info on Benji or any other dog we may have please pm us .

Brutus patiently awaits for the perfect family to come along . This sweet boy has been with us a long time . Being only a year old he’s very young to be stuck with us . He’s such a good boy but still has a lot to learn , but he’s eager and willing . He’s fixed and vaccinated. Please pm us to learn more about this sweet boy .

Largo is still up for adoption can you believe that ?. He’s the last of his litter . He’s a 10 week old bully mix . He’s been in foster care and doing great . Largo has been working on his crate training , leash walking and housetraining and he’s doing great . For an application for Largo please pm our page.

Last week , we made a post about our struggles with our shelter and that we are close to shutting down . What we want everyone to know is if we do shut down this is what we won’t be able to help . This is Ginny , this sweet girl along with Coors this little Jack Russell mix were left in a home after the family moved out . They were left there for weeks to fend for themselves until one finally made it out to which someone found him and followed him back to thr house only to find the other one . They were in terrible shape . Without us they would have had nobody . Ginny is an absolute doll she’s just the sweetest and we have no doubt we will find her the best home she could ever imagine . Coors is your typical fun loving Jack with the typical personality. Both dogs will be up for adoption . These are some of the things we deal with on a daily basis . All animals deserve a chance they didn’t ask for this .

With everything that is going on we can’t forget that we have so many great dogs for adoption. Meet Rocky , he’s new to our rescue , he’s a bully mix who’s about a year old . He’s definitely a bit shy at first but has quickly become a shelter favorite. Rocky isnt fixed yet but will be . We haven’t tried Rocky with other dogs as of yet so we aren’t sure . If you would like to come and meet him or for an application please pm our page .

So this news isn’t great and we thought it was time to let everyone know the status our little rescue is in . We actually won’t be able to keep our doors open much longer . Although the community and our volunteers have been amazing we lack the help from the city and adjoining towns and townships . There’s no animal control in many towns and townships so where do the animals end up , well , on our doorstep that’s where . We get no financial help from any of them . Without this rescue and all the surrenders (which are at an all time high) and animals being dumped where are they all going to go if we are forced to close down ?. When the city has an animal that no one claims they are knocking on our door for us to take them , we have no space or money to continue to do this . We rely solely on fundraising and donations and our store Hidden Treasure. We can no longer sustain this high level of animals we get calls for everyday . We can no longer keep up with our massive overhead of bills , which include rent , utilities vet bills and the list goes on . Our doors can close at any time . We have worked so hard to help this community and go above and beyond . We all are volunteers who put blood sweat and tears into helping all these unwanted animals . We want to do everything we can to stay open and we will try but things need to change with our city and surrounding areas to help us stay afloat .We want to say to all of our volunteers and to our community a huge thank you for helping with donations and for supporting us anyway you can all these years ,we are humbled everyday by the continued support . We will fight to stay open and continue to help animals who don’t ask to be in this situation at all !!!!!!. If you wish to help in anyway if it’s on our fundraising committee or donations or volunteering we can all stick together to continue to help us keep helping , please message us . Help us get our city to see us as an asset that this town needs! We need help to stay open!!
Currently in our care we have 45 cats on site and 17 in foster we have around 50 dogs in our current care .

Our July Dog and Cat employee of the month!

The July cat employee of the month is She-ra!
This beautiful young lady came to us with two kittens and a pregnant belly. We expected her to give birth shortly after arriving at the foster home but it wasn't until two weeks later she finally gave birth to 7 kittens! She did an amazing job feeding and caring for her kittens.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago when we had 5 two week old kittens arrive at the rescue with no mother to care for them. We tried to get Althea, the momma with four kittens to feed them but no luck..... however She-ra was up to the challenge and immediately integrated the 5 new kittens with her 7 and started looking after all 12! Thankfully her 7 had started to transition to wet food.
For all of She-ra's hard work, she is the July cat employee of the month! She-ra will need a break once all of her babies are gone and hopefully she'll find a nice relaxing home to retire in peace.

Meet Lolly! If you think those kind and loving eyes will get you... you are ABSOLUTELY right! Sadly she has been with us since December 2023 and is now 2 and a half. This Siberian Husky cross loves nothing more than curling up into your lap and giving you all the love. Ok, well, maybe she likes a good hike even more! This great lady is our employee of the month because she is always so happy to see us. You've had a bad day... Lolly will make it better. You are feeling sad... Lolly will make you laugh as she "hides" her toys for you to find. Lonely? Nope, you cannot feel alone with this cuddle bug! She makes you think you are the best human ever! If you think you need a Lolly in your life ( ..and you should!), contact us to meet this sweetheart! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to love her furever family!
