Hello!!

We have exciting news!

We will be partially opening again!!

We are settled in Orillia and are excited to meet some new furry friends and say hello to past friends!

We have two beautiful daughters now and are opening our doors once again, but working around their schedule! I will be available for mobile services on limited days but will also be offering nail trims in my house. We do not have a proper space/salon so this service is mostly for our current clients and friends!
On occasion we will take walking clients or visits as well as cat visits!

We are so excited to start up again 🙂

Even though we are not currently open we still like to keep our clients in the loop and keep you all safe out there! This was reported from another dog walker in the Barrie area!

PLEASE BEWARE!
While walking at the south Barrie dog park today 2 dogs were poisoned with L*D. Dogs only need to sniff or lick L*D. It doesn't have to be ingested. L*D can be as small as a postage stamp.
A tox screen was done at the vets and the results came back positive to L*D.
Please avoid the south Barrie dog park and be vigilant of what your dog is sniffing. Certainly do not let them eat anything off the ground or drink from puddles.
Both dogs were taken to a vet and are both recovering.
Symptoms noticed were:
Inability to walk
Really cold and stiff
Twitching
Whining
Extremely lethargic- wouldn’t even open eyes
Vomiting

Dear Clients, Family, and all our four-legged friends!

It is with so many mixed emotions that we announce the current closing of Ashley's Pet Services. Our decision to pause respects the Covid-19 lockdown mandated by the Government of Ontario, and it also reflects our excitement for the new family addition, due on February 9!

We are ready to welcome our baby girl into this world so soon, and I cannot wait to focus my time and attention on the joys of motherhood in these next few months. For the time being (and with the required limitations from lockdowns), this is the best option for my family. I appreciate all of your enthusiasm, patience, and loyalty to my business. I look forward to returning to the dog-walking and nail trimming family refreshed, and with a baby in tow!

Pet grooming is 100% essential! Nails growing into pads, hematoma’s under matted hair, a**l gland infections, skin allergies, overgrown hair in ears, the list goes on and on for why we should be essential!

Allow pet groomers to open up their business during lockdown.

IMPORTANT!!

Dear clients

Some of you have been told and others have not, but we have exciting news which will cause some changes in our business!

I AM PREGNANT!
And we are moving to Orillia!

We will be continuing to do Barrie days as long as we can. This means they will be longer and tighter days. I will be dependant on your flexibility with this. Services will be based off of a day slot with an approximate time, due to not knowing how long my services will take or any traffic/external factors. I so appreciate your patience in this. I cannot do it without you!

As per pregnancy: I am monitoring my health and the baby's. This means, sometimes, some services are pushed back, rescheduled or cancelled. We understand this can be frustrating, and again, we so appreciate your patience as we play this out by ear. I am out of the first trimester so I am hoping things will be getting easier. A few bigger grooming services are being held off, due to physical limitations with lifting the table and dogs, and grooms taking a toll on the body. We will continue to keep you all updated on how we are doing! I also apologize in advance if I misread text messages, forget, or take a while to reply, pregnancy brain is a thing..

Timing with this pregnancy will be played by ear for when we stop our services and start up again. This will be dependant on how my body continues to handle it and ofcourse how the baby is :) Thankyou all so much for your understanding and encouraging messages!

If I cannot service you anymore due to location, scheduling, or when the time comes to it, I will be referring off to trusted businesses that perform similar services as mine.

Thankyou all again for your continued loyalty and encouragement! You and your furry family members are the reason I love my job so much, and makes this that much more difficult.
Thankyou for your time in reading this!

Ashley

This is shared from Jessica's Pet Services
I couldn’t agree more and appreciated her wording!
I have been nominated again for the Barrie’s best dog walker! And as much as it means the world to me and makes me smile, with the different services I offer I feel as though it is incorrect for me to get title of best dog walker.
I love my job and all the pets I work with, whether that be walking, training, nail trims or cat care :)
So from the bottom of my heart, Thankyou! But let’s appreciate all the Pet Services in the area!! I have the privilege of knowing so many of them and they all do an amazing job and have a true passion for taking care of Barries pets! We are one lucky city!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to whom ever nominated me for The Best Dogwalker in Barrie for Readers Digest Award.

Although nothing gets me more excited then trying to win the title as Being the best dog walker in Barrie.

I am choosing to not ask for nominations this time around. I feel that no one is really “The Best” in our line of work, as we all offer different/ unique services and We’re ALL awesome at what we do. So do I think one particular business is the best? No I don’t.

I don’t think I am the best at what I do. I always feel there’s lots to learn and improve on. But my clients love and appreciate me and I LOVE what I do. So that’s ALL that matters to me and is a WIn Win..

But good luck to all the other wonderful Dog Walkers in my area. They ALL kick ass at what they do everyday!!!! 🥰❤️🥰

Liana's Pet Services put together some great pictures to show some cautions of summer that we need to be aware of! This week has been hot! And many dogs don’t handle the heat well. We are also aware that ticks are on the rise and something to keep an eye out for! Please go through these informational pictures regarding the safety of our pets, and reach out if you have any questions!

Hello again :)
A few updates

1) Scheduling: we are slowly going through our clients and getting to the bottom! wahoo! we will be contacting shortly with a date and time that may work best! we are limiting to a certain number of services a day in order to maintain safety. This means I cannot fit you all in the first week. I appreciate your understanding with this and patience to get in :)

2) Safety Protocols: We will be maintaining a safety protocol through this whole process. We will be sanitizing before and after each service. We will be limiting our contact with owners and performing most services outside or in a garage (other then cats). This lessens the need for a mask due to a limited supply. If we require the owners assistance we will message you and both wear appropriate PPE. I have been trained on how to properly put on and take off my masks. I have also taken an online course on how to properly work while maintaining these safety protocols and have been certified through this.

3) We so look forward to seeing you all and catching up :)

HELLOO!!!
We got the announcement that we can open!! wahooo!! We are so excited to see all our furry friends again and ofcourse our clients :)
HOWEVER
I am writing this with mixed emotions.
I received 20 messages in the last hour of people asking for nail trims and walks and I have a list of 100 clients who are all waiting to get in. I will be doing my VERY best to try and accomodate you all and get you all in, in a timely manner. But I want to be safe with this, in a few measures.
One: The obvious is being safe with Covid. I do NOT have access to enough sanitizer or wipes in order to keep up with the constant sanitizing I would have to do between services. I am hoping I can get some this weekend but i am worried I will not be able to. Please, if you have any wipes or sprays to spare this would be so appreciated as I cannot work unless I have enough supplies to keep us all safe from this virus.
Two: I want to keep my mental and physical health in mind, and I will be maintaining my regular schedule as before. I will be limiting to monday to friday with evenings and weekends off so I have time to recoup and refresh for the next day and to keep me performing at my best ability. I will not be putting my safety or health on the back burner, so unfortunately this means my schedule will be tight. I so appreciate your understanding in this as I find a way to maintain good health through this.
Three: Scheduling. I will be honest, scheduling is going to be difficult. It was already difficult before Covid even hit. I will be making a tentative schedule before hand with times and locations in mind. I kindly ask for your patience as I go through this, and a quick response for what your schedule looks like. If I do not hear from person A I cannot book in person B or C and the list goes on. Please keep this in mind over the next few weeks :)
I do not want this message to sound harsh, but rather appreciate the excitement from you all and understanding, but want to lay out the foundation for you all.
THANKYOU

Cat Nail trims! Push in to the paw, this will push out the nail. Once you can clearly see then nail, you will notice a curve. Trim by the base of the curve before the pink. If you don’t feel comfortable, just take the tip off! Try to hold on your lap or standing up and have someone else help trim. You can also try to wrap them in a towel if they give you a hard time. But with cats, usually less is more! As noted with Karl falling asleep in my lap

03/26/2020

DOG NAIL TRIMS!! It is important to keep your dogs nails trimmed, and now that I am unable to come by and most grooming salons are closed, it is a good idea for you to try and trim them yourself :) even if you can just take the tips off, this will help keep the kwik back. So when I come in again, I don’t have to worry about an overgrown Kwik! Steps in trimming a dogs nails! 1: look on the underside! Do not trim from the top! You will not be able to see where the kwik or hollow is. 2: look for the hollow of the nail. The pictures I added will show you where the base of the nail is, including the kwik, and then where hollow of the nail is, this is what you can trim off. 3: if you would like to go further, in black nails, look for the chalky white powder in the nail. Keep going until you see the black dot. This is the kwik. Stop here! If they are white nails, look for a pink dot. 4: remember to cut on a 45 degree angle, as shown in the pictures. This helps receed the kwik. But even just taking the tip off will help!! 5: please message me if you have any questions! 6: if they bleed, don’t panic. This is ok! It looks worse then it is. Simply apply flour or cornstarch with some pressure to the nail and it should stop :)
