Callie has recovered from the Callivirus, aided by antibiotics and prompt intervention. This sweet girl will visit the vet again this week. Originally, Callie was a Mabou barn kitten with severe tapeworm and roundworm infestations. She received Nexguard Combo kitten treatment. Unfortunately, the virus caused tongue ulcers, leading to significant pain and loss of appetite. Subcutaneous fluid administration and syringe feeding with diluted soft food were necessary. After a week, Callie started eating and gaining weight. It's crucial to recognize that kittens, especially outdoor ones, are vulnerable to worm infestations transmitted through maternal milk. Feral kittens and those consuming rodents are at high risk for tapeworm. Callie's rough start notwithstanding, she is one of the fortunate ones.❤️All Callie’s care was done with me as she needed fluids often and weight had to be watched .A feeding schedule to ensure she got adequate nutrition. How many kittens are not this lucky .The callivirus is very contagious so kittens are high risk or any unhealthy cats are too .Drooling and stop eating first signs of the Callivirus .Keep kittens healthy.
Note :All kittens have roundworm no matter if you see them or not. Please get dewormer from the vet .
