Important information for our clients who are traveling to the U.S. with their dogs:

• Regulations regarding microchip identification, rabies vaccination and documentation required to bring a dog into the US will change significantly as of August 1, 2024.
• Due to these changes, we are recommending that any client who anticipates travelling to the US with their dog at any time in the future have their dog microchipped prior to being vaccinated against rabies.
• For details regarding new requirements for documentation, vaccination and identification, please discuss with one of our veterinarians.
• We also recommend consulting the US CDC website for detailed information:
www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs-entering-us-after-august-1.html
Please note that Canada is considered a low-risk country when reading the information on the CDC website

Thank you!

Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required).
