Why adopt a senior?

❤️Senior animals are just as capable of building a bond with their owners
❤️ They are still appreciative of large cages and new experiences
❤️ Often overlooked, these animals are left to live their lives in a rescue

Small animals reach seniority at 1 year old and have a reduced adoption fee, vet checks, and a no questions asked return.

‼️ Baby alert ‼️

Applications open- message us!

These beautiful Russian dwarf hybrid babies were surrendered to the shelter today. They will be looking for their furever homes after a 2 week quarantine period.

The babies are estimated 7 weeks old. They will be monitored for temperament and illness during their stay.

Applicants must provide proof of care as well as basic hamster knowledge.

Why rescue small animals?

❤️Small pets like hamster, gerbils, and mice are often overlooked and not accepted at other rescues
❤️Humane keeping is a rarity in the small pet world- most stores put profit above proper care
❤️Small animals are intelligent, sensitive, and deserve to be treated with love and respect- the same love will be returned to you in abundance!

Wheels are “wheel-y” important for small animals! Ensure your wheel has:

❤️a solid running surface (no bars or wire mesh) for paw health!
❤️minimum 8” diameter for dwarf hamsters, roborovski hamsters, and mice
❤️minimum 10” diameter for gerbils
❤️minimum 12” diameter for Syrian and Chinese hamsters

A proper wheel size means your small animals will be able to run without back pain or spinal deformities! If you’re unsure about your current wheel feel free to reach out.

Why Large Cages?
❤Hamsters need large cages to keep them happy and occupied- nobody wants to live in a small house!
❤As per the California hamster club and Ontario hamster society, we follow the humane standards for hamster care in North America for all rescues.
❤Hamsters travel 5-10 miles a night and need tons of toys and enrichment!
❤The bare minimum of 620sqin for Syrians and 450sqin for other hamsters is just the beginning- hamsters will thrive in much larger cages

Forest is a 4-6 month old Syrian hamster! She is young, healthy, and still growing. She is pretty skittish and would do best with a patient owner willing to dedicate some time with her.

Forest requires an interview and application to be adopted! It is important that she goes to the right home. Pictures of your cage must be provided.
