Raven and Sunny pups! They were born May 25th 2019. There are 3 female pups and 1 male pup available for adoption. We are keeping a female from this litter. This is Buddy, he is a male black lab. He was born August 8th, 2018. He is available for Adoption. Originally we were keeping him for our breeding program but we unfortunately don’t have a female available for him. He has a great and sweet disposition and loves to play ball, swim, and play with other dogs. We also run a boarding kennel here so he has been well socialized. The pups are just a little over 2 1/2 weeks old. They are all spoken for. Next litter will be in six months (approx). Their mom is Shea, dad is Gunner. next litters parents will be Suzie, and Decoy. Pictures at a later date.

Our Story

25th ANNIVERSARY! - in 2019, Ruff Country Kennel celebrates it’s 25th year, with expansions to our services, web site & pages, more online interaction with dog lovers, even an event or two! 2019 also sees ‘R & R’, Retirement & Re-homing for two beautiful German Short Haired Pointer ladies in the Fall. As they near six years of age, their breeding services are well rewarded with early retirement, transitioning from being working dogs to companion dogs, with hopefully many years of fun ahead of them. Applicants to provide either of our sweet girls with new ‘fur-ever’ homes will be considered carefully between now and then. A modest ‘Re-homing Fee’ will include the required spaying before they will be released.

ABOUT OUR KENNEL - Ruff Country Kennel is centrally located in picturesque Nova Scotia, Canada. We're just a half hour drive from the Robert L. Stanfield International Airport, and about 30 min from the hub-town of Truro. Our country property meanders along the beautiful Shubenacadie River.

Once a working farm owned by the Rose family in historic Douglas Township (today's East Hants County), Ruff Country today provides the ideal location for a kennel. Plenty of fresh air to romp in and nature all around to watch, winding forest paths and waterways for exercise & training ensure the 'old farm' enjoys an extended life well into the modern age. Farm dogs were some of the very earliest working partners of people as human civilization evolved, and we think there's no better place than a farm for healthy, happy canines.
