Puppies are getting a little more active each day 😉
We moved into our new pen and wow what a big world... we are already exploring and practicing our social skills
Nap time
Life with four Danes
Nap time in the house of DK Danes 😉
The snoring is quiet today, anyone have some videos of their danes snoring away?
So Miss DK Scarlet out grew her puppy pen in less then 2 weeks...at the time we thought no big deal right? I mean as a breeder we are equipped to handle multiple dogs and the many litters of puppies that come along!!
Our home has an endless supply of dog rooms, rescue sheds, dog doors, divider gates, puppy runs ... the list goes on but most of all we have puppy rooms.. rooms meant to contain litters of puppies that are safe, chew proof, easy to clean, perfect for playing, napping and the obvious escape proof!!! We have never had an issue with any of our puppies..I mean let’s face it raising puppies is EASY when you’re home is built for it and youve spent the last 7 years setting up for it, So I thought 😞
well miss smarty pants Scarlet has decided to teach me a lesson in thinking I had the system beat lol!!
2 days after she came home she figured out the dog door on the puppy pen, ok so no biggy we make sure it’s always locked (kids haven’t played with it). 1 week after she figures out how to unlock it. Thats fine we remove the dog door and attach the kennel!! Next week she learns to climb the fence, well that always happens eventually so it’s time to move in the puppy room!!!
First day all goes well, she likes it in there, fist pump;) second day...lock her up, 5 mins later she joins me at the other end of the house...hmmm maybe the door lock is sticking? let’s make sure we close it right!!! Day after keeps getting out... repeatedly, ok ask the husband to fix the door.... AND STILL getting out:| came home from the vet...Scarlet has GOT to be tired after such an eventful day, lock her up,turn around and she is running past me... lock her up again and this time we stand there wait and video tape!!!
My 12 week old puppy has taught herself how to open door handles and with much skill I might add!!!
The best thing about Great Danes is how smart they are!!!! The worst thing about Great Danes is how smart they are lol;)
*Puppy room now under construction*
Nobody wants to wrestle a 100 plus pound dog into a bathtub, start when they are young and bath time becomes fun;)
