The hardest part of being pet parent is having to say goodbye. Big Head, I tried so hard to help you get better - but your main symptom didn’t get better- the treatments killed what was hurting you, but the permanent damage was already done.
I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you from this.
I knew odds were slim when you were diagnosed about a full recovery. I tried to be hopeful but deep down I knew and prepared myself since January 30th. I knew, despite a month of treatment this would likely be our last month together.
You loved running and playing in the backyard; summer and winter didn’t matter the season, it was your favourite thing to do. You were a free spirited curious explorer. You were a Houdini. I’m glad you got to experience 5 amazing years with me and your furry friends. Im glad half way through this month you started to act more like yourself, minus the head tilt and rolls. I’m glad I got to spend everyday with you- every single day- didn’t matter if it was bath time, med time, feeding time, subcutaneous fluid time, nap time, cuddle time, work time, on the bus, in an Uber... Every single moment was a moment I got to be with you.
There will be no more alligator rolls. No more wondering why this is happening to you. No more.
We spent this day cuddling, letting you eat all these things you’ve never tried, just bonding all day.
Now is the time I say goodbye, my boy, my friend. I dare not cry. You don’t need to smell my tears or sense my sorrow. I packed cilantro, banana, and pear.. and you ate it all at your last appointment. I’m glad you had a good day of purring and didn’t see this coming. May your little spirit Binky, run, and hop to wherever you want to go. You’re free to explore the unknown and an have an endless adventure. Your spirit will visit home when you are ready ❤️ my little guy, my friend, my Houdini, my brat, I love you.

Introducing your puppy to professional grooming as early as 2months old and sticking to a routine schedule of every 4-6 weeks with your groomer, helps them stay in tip top shape, and get used to the grooming process, equipment, handling gestures, table mannerism, and groomer without overwhelming them! For puppies who require future full body haircuts Steph recommends booking them in for “bath & tidy” service also known as an introduction groom for puppies! It includes a bath with hypoallergenic shampoo, gentle fluff drying, brush out, nail trim, pad shave, sanitary trim, feet trim and face trim. It’s recommended your puppy receive a couple of intro services before jumping into a full body haircut.
