❤️🐾Meet KAZOO!!! Kazoo is our beautiful 4-year-old brindle mastiff with a heart as big as her gentle, soulful eyes. For over three months, Kazoo has patiently awaited a special someone to see past her long shelter stay and into the loving companion she truly is after her previous family could no longer care for her.

Kazoo finds pure joy in the simple pleasures in life – playfully chasing after her favorite balls, munching on fresh grass, and basking in the warm sunshine. She’s a devoted friend who loves her people deeply, always ready with a wagging tail and a tender nuzzle. Kazoo also has a quirky talent for “trimming trees,” making sure every branch within her reach gets her playful attention. And on sunny days, you’ll find her splashing and lounging in her kiddie pool, content as can be.

Kazoo dreams of a quiet, peaceful home where she can be the sole recipient of your love. Little ones can make her nervous, so she’s best suited for a household without kids or other pets. Typical of a mastiff, she is big and strong and a potential adopter should be physically capable of walking and managing a giant breed dog. Kazoo would likely be a great candidate to work with an animal kind trainer, to teach her how to be the perfect pup!

We know there’s a perfect person out there willing to take a chance on Kazoo, to give her the forever home she’s been longing for. Will you be the one to make her dreams come true? Take a chance on Kazoo, and let her fill your life with the love and joy she’s ready to give. Learn more about Kazoo at https://adopt.spca.bc.ca/pets/685342/. | BC SPCA Maple Ridge

Meet Poppy!❤️🐾Poppy is a beautiful female Border Collie mix with a heart full of love waiting to be shared. Initially shy, Poppy warms up quickly to the right person, revealing her affectionate and loyal nature.

This smart girl thrives with maximum cuddles and affection. Though she is considered a medium-large sized dog, Poppy will make herself right at home in your lap, and would love to be at your side all day long. She has done well settling down in her kennel at night.

Poppy came to us as a stray, so her history is unknown. What we do know is that Poppy is looking for a forever home that can provide her with the cuddles she so truly deserves.

Poppy needs some basic obedience training. She tends to jump on people when she is excited to see them. She is working on her manners with other dogs. She can be too forward when meeting new dogs, but seems to be excited to see them. Learn more about sweet Poppy at https://adopt.spca.bc.ca/pets/759120/ | BC SPCA Sunshine Coast

💔Sweet Cashew and Walnut were surrendered into the care of the BC SPCA because their previous guardian was moving and their new landlord did not allow pets. He was devastated because he loved them so dearly but could not afford a pet-friendly place to live.

One of the biggest concerns renters face in British Columbia is finding a pet-friendly place because, in B.C., landlords are allowed to prohibit pets in rental accommodations. Two-thirds of B.C. households include pets as important and loved family members. But pet-friendly housing is hard to find and often more expensive, especially for vulnerable people who already face housing barriers.

We need government leadership so British Columbians can live with and be supported by the animals they love while ensuring landlords and strata have appropriate protection and mechanisms to resolve disputes. We’ve asked B.C. political parties to bring tenants, landlords and other stakeholders together to find collaborative solutions. Visit https://ow.ly/eyFm50ShkJ9 to advocate for animals in British Columbia.

💗🐾Meet Magnus: The Heartfelt Hound in Search of Home

Hey there, I’m Magnus, and I’ve got a tale to tell. I may be a senior pup, but don’t let that fool you – I’ve got a twinkle in my eye and a bounce in my step, especially when there’s a scent to follow or a cozy spot to curl up in. But between you and me, I’ve been feeling a little lonesome lately.

You see, I’m not too fond of other dogs, and my prey drive tends to stir up trouble. But all I really want is a family to call my own, someone who’ll shower me with belly rubs and treats, and maybe even a scratch behind the ears.

So, if you’re in the market for a furry friend who’s equal parts cute and s***k, and a whole lot of love to give, then look no further. I’m Magnus, and I’m ready to snuggle my way into your heart. Will you be the one to give me the happily ever after I’ve been dreaming of? Learn more about Magnus at https://adopt.spca.bc.ca/pets/751640/. | BC SPCA West Kootenay ❤️

🐾Two-thirds of B.C. households include beloved pets as part of their family, but pet-friendly housing is hard to find and expensive.

"The BC SPCA is seeing an increase in people needing to surrender their pets because of a lack of pet-friendly housing options. Many families all over the province are being forced to rehome their pets in order to keep or find a place to live" explains Kahlee Demers, manager of a BC SPCA Community Animal Centre.

Chase, Cashew, Walnut and Indie are just a few of the very loved pets who ended up in BC SPCA care recently because of housing issues. It's a heartbreaking situation for these animals and the people who love them.

As I'm sure you know, pets benefit their family's physical, mental and emotional health, combat loneliness and help people make important social connections. For vulnerable people, the positive impact of their pets is even more critical and their housing choices are even more limited.

Sadly, a lack of pet-friendly housing in B.C. means many people must make a heartbreaking choice between a member of their family and a safe, affordable place to live.

Meet Tyson!🐾❤️Tyson is a big, lovable boy. He has the typical big cheeks of a male cat who was neutered late in life, and due to frostbite and ear mites, he has a cauliflower ear. This just makes him more distinguishable.

Tyson can be a bit shy at first, but he loves treats and wet food so this is a great way to build a bond with this boy.

Tyson has had a rough past, and all he wants is a safe place to call home and to be able to take naps in a sunbeam and hang out with someone who will love him unconditionally. Learn more about sweet Tyson at https://ow.ly/7wqa50SfJNz. ❤️ BC SPCA Sea to Sky

😻❤️Meet Aberdeen, a sweet and independent tuxedo looking for a very quiet, adult only, with no other pets retirement home.

Aberdeen is a nice combination of affection and independence to the point of when she wants attention, she will let you know by meowing. She may be vocal when it’s her feeding time. Her home needs to be indoor only and she prefers clumping litter. She LOVES catnip, her fish stuffie and soft blankets. What she isn’t fond of, is to be picked up and/or brushed. Her back end is very sensitive so any petting should be on her chest or head, or chin. OH, and she comes to the snapping of fingers and is a lap cat! We have some "hoppy" news to share! We are beyond thrilled to announce that BC SPCA Kamloops' beloved bonded pair of rabbits, Betty and Archie, have finally found their forever home after 377 days in BC SPCA care!

These two sweet bunnies have been inseparable since day one, sharing every hop, snuggle, and carrot together. Today, they hopped right into the hearts of a wonderful family who saw the magic of their bond and gave them the loving home they deserve.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their story, visited them, and helped them along the way. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

❤️Thank you for being a loving friend to Jeff! I'm sure you haven't forgotten this sweet face. Poor Jeff was emaciated, vomiting and unable to eat when BC SPCA Animal Protection Officers rushed him to an animal hospital for an emergency exam. Jeff's dedicated medical suspected a foreign object was blocking his intestines and the sick pup was taken in for emergency surgery. There, his team discovered a piece of rubber that had damaged a section of his intestines before becoming stuck.

With your love, Jeff slowly but steadily gained the weight he desperately needed. He spent weeks in foster care under careful watch to ensure his recovery went smoothly. Jeff was such a good boy in his foster home through his recovery. His foster family shared he was such an easy guy to train, being so food motivated and eager to please. He is a huge cuddle bug who wants to be snuggled 24/7.

Once he was given the all-clear from his medical team, Jeff was ready for his next big adventure...finding his forever home! It didn't long for this sweet boy to steal the heart of someone and head home with them. Despite the hardships Jeff endured, he is now in the best hands with his forever family. Your caring heart has changed his life for the better. I hope you know how much we -and Jeff- appreciate you.

🐾❤️Greetings fur-friends and animal aficionados! Sweet Flossy has been waiting for her forever home for 197 days now, and is hoping her forever person will see this post!

This vivacious pup has a personality as big as her name! Flossy is on a mission to find her perfect match, someone who totally gets her Rottweiler charm, cherishes her sweet couch-potato soul, and is ready to help her conquer everything that big wide world may throw her way.

Flossy’s hobbies? Oh, she’s got the best! Strolls in nature? Check. Laying in the sun working on her pawfect tan? Double check. Snuggling up for some serious relaxation time with her favorite humans? Triple check. Single handedly saving the world from Global Warming by nipping waterfalls in the butt? Quadrupal check.

Flossy is on a journey of making friends – human and four-legged. And although she’s still a bit selective about her companions she’s shown remarkable progress in overcoming these obstacles. While she’s come a long way, Flossy can still be unsure around some men and children, so a little extra time and understanding are key to helping her feel comfortable and secure.

With her larger-than-life personality, Flossy promises to bring endless joy, laughter, and love into your life. If you’re ready to welcome a water-loving, belly-rub-seeking, world-saving, uniquely wonderful woman, Flossy is eager to meet you and become the loyal friend you’ve been looking for!
