Some heart-wrenching news from my very first dog training client:

This gorgeous boy has left us too soon due to health complications. 😢💔
Half wolf, half Anatolian Shepherd mix- I was the only human other than his family he showed any attention, let alone affection!😂
He was the one who taught me what it takes to be a dog trainer- kindness, patience, and persistence. The one who helped show me, this is who i am. The one who motivated me to start my own business. The one I will never forget.. thank you Arrow. Rest easy my friend.

learning to wait:
having your dog comfortable doing nothing is important to their mental health.
i do this by teaching the dog to "value the wait" command. strong verbal praise while doing what it is you want from your dog- making them more likely to return to the position on command in a higher stress situation

Our third session with Banjo, walking past some ducks without incident.
"Oh my god, I can't believe he didn't try to go after them!" -Banjo's owner

Seeing some great progress in Banjos leash reactivity here. He willingly breaks his focus, with just 1 verbal command, and then walks right by a flock of ducks with only a brief glance in their direction.

Doing some training with a client this past weekend on leash reactivity.

Just before this video started there is a squirrel to the right of the truck parked on the right side of the road. Here I am using some techniques to help break the fixation, and keep the focus on me. Then we continue past the squirrel with no incident.

I feel so blessed to be able to apply my knowledge to help people and their dogs 🙂
