Since 2008, Virden Pet Network has been helping homeless pets by providing veterinary care, spay-neuter, vaccinations, and any emergency treatment needed. Over the years, we have rescued and found homes for hundreds of pets, mainly cats and kittens, and helped lost and found pets get back home to their families. Our Low Cost Spay Neuter program was created in cooperation with the Virden Animal Hos

pital to greatly reduce the cost of spay-neuter to limited income pet owners. VPN also supports stray cat colonies in neighboring communities by providing resources like Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), food, and winter shelters. As a foster-based rescue, 95 percent of donated funds go directly towards our mission of helping animals.

Owner writes: "He is very healthy with no issues at all. His energy level is medium and he absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs! He is loyal, loves chewing on bones and plays tug like a champ! He prefers to be outside but sleeps/naps inside where his people and dog friends are! He will bark if someone comes in the door but quiets down immediately if the person is known or I tell him ‘enough’. So he would probably be great for someone looking to feel more secure in their home! I would say he would be happier with another dog in the home but with the right family I’m sure he would be ok alone too."

Finder does not have them in her care, they are skittish. Both are wearing collars, no tags, no tattoos.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! This handsome, sweet-natured boy was formerly posted as "Max", but we've since learned his name is Nash. Nash is currently relaxing at the City Animal Retention Centre, but he would love to be welcomed into a new home. The bylaw's minimum hold requirement has passed, and he is, sadly, unwanted. Will you open your heart and family to Nash? He appears to be a large breed, possibly a Mastiff/Lab cross, approximately 8 months old. Well-mannered and friendly and ready to embrace the summer in some new digs. Contact City Animal Services at 204-648-3593 or [email protected] if you are interested. Adoption fees will apply so Nash can be neutered and provided with the vaccinations he needs to give him a healthy start in life.

Currently we need anyone who may have witnessed the actual abandonment to contact us or the RCMP privately to ensure your information is protected !

Update: Road Rash Kitty Her foster mum reports kitty had a good night and an even better morning. She ate a big breakfast and then began cleaning herself up. She's still very stiff and not moving around much. All that's missing is a robust BM (she's so impacted, the vet suspected pregnancy until they did an xray)! Our great foster mum is keeping a close eye on things.

PETRA / DAISY UPDATE! Remember our shy little girl found at Longshot Services? Adoptive mom Emma says: "Daisy is doing absolutely fantastic. I'm crazy proud of her! Recently, she’s been hanging out with us in the living room and kitchen! LOVES getting pets, watching TV, and when we play with her. She gets the zoomies in the evening and during the night. And she’s been crazy talkative too! This morning was the first morning she jumped onto my bed and cuddled with me." We're glad to see her fur is growing back out after her lion cut, too. Seeing her in action is the happiest of happy endings!
