Hello and thanks for your interest in Tough Trench Betta and Small Fish Rescue. Here I take in most small fish, bring them up to good health if needed, and rehome them.
Our policy's
No reason needed. I know privacy is very important and that all sorts of things can lead someone to need to rehome a pet, so I won't ask. Simple as that.
Medical history. That said to best treat and rehome your fish I do like to have a small idea of your fish's background. This includes age, how long you've had them, where you may have gotten them, if they've ever had any illness, and what treatment they may have received for it.
Donations. Unfortunately taking in fish and bringing them up to health can be costly, as such I ask all owners who are dropping off a fish to please give something in donations, whether that be supplies, equipment, or cash, any amount is accepted and appreciated.
Adoption fees. I charge a small adoption fee, no more the $5, to cover the cost of care for that fish. The adoption fee is based on what that fish specifically needed, not the species of fish.
Tank check. When adopting I like to make sure your prepared for your new fishy friend. So I may ask a few questions such as your tank size, if you have filtration, and if you have a heater (fish depending).
Records. To best track the progress and care of a fish we do keep records. These records will include the answers you give regarding your fish. This information is completely anonymous, I do not take down names or any personal information. I simply use it to track care for rehoming purposes.
Whether interested in adopting or looking to rehome, please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
