Paws and Claws Animal Rescue has been rescuing animals since February 2015. Many of our rescues come in as strays from poor living conditions from places in the surrounding areas. We take the time to assess each animal both mentally and physically before putting them up for adoption. Once the animal has been rescued, we place them into a foster home that is the best fit for him/her. Without our fo

ster parents, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many animals as we do. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and dedication our fosters provide for our rescues! All animals are vet checked and are up to date with their shots and a complete exam to make sure they are healthy before being put up for Adoption. Yes, Bear has beautiful blue eyes but did you know his eyeliner is 100% natural? I know it looks like I spend several minutes everyday carefully applying it but I promise- he was born this way 🤩

Bear gets tons of compliments every adoption day- he’s got bright blue eyes and a lush all white fur coat. Despite his ravishing good looks- no applications.

Bear is UTD on his vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is microchipped. He is great with other dogs of all sizes and loves kids. He is currently being fostered on a farm where he is outdoors during the day and kenneled at night.

Bear is a 4 month old husky/shepherd cross and you know that fun thing huskies do when you know they can hear you but they pretend they can’t and instead they just look the other way and continue doing what they want to? Well, Bear excels at that 😂🫠 we’re working on it but something tells me a little bit of that independence will stick with him 😄

These guys are ready to find thier forever homes.
They are about 11 weeks old, have had thier first set of vaccinations & have been dewormed.
They are MastiffX, so will be big dogs.
They are the sweetest bunch of puppies.

Ever wonder what makes orange cats so special? Spoiler alert: It’s in their DNA! 🧬🧡 Let’s break it down.

🐾 80% of orange cats are BOYS. Why? The orange gene is linked to the X chromosome. Males only need ONE copy to be orange, but females need TWO! That’s why ginger girls are rare!

🐾 No such thing as a solid orange cat. Every single orange cat is a tabby—even if their stripes are faint. The gene for solid orange fur? It doesn’t exist.

🐾 Freckles, freckles everywhere! A lot of orange cats get little black spots on their nose, lips, and gums as they grow. It’s called lentigo—and yes, it’s 100% adorable.

🐾 Orange cats = extra social? Studies suggest male orange cats tend to be friendlier and bolder than other cats. Coincidence? Science says maybe not!

🐾 Some are bright orange, some are creamy. Why? It’s all about pheomelanin, the pigment that creates orange fur. Some cats have more, some have less. That’s why you see different shades of ginger!

🐾 Big boys, big attitudes. Male orange cats tend to be larger than other cats. In the wild, bigger size = more dominance. Maybe that’s why they act like they own the place.

🐾 Sun addicts! 🌞 Orange cats LOVE warmth. Their fur absorbs light differently, making them naturally drawn to sunny spots and warm blankets.

🐾 They TALK. A lot.Ever notice orange cats seem extra chatty? Some owners swear they’re the most vocal felines out there. Science hasn’t confirmed it—but orange cat parents KNOW.

🐾 They might live longer? Some research suggests coat color could be linked to lifespan. Bigger size = survival advantage. But at the end of the day, health matters more than fur color!

🐾 They’ve been loved for centuries. 🏺 Ancient cultures believed orange cats brought luck, warmth, and prosperity. They knew what was up!

Sprout and Ma**er

Sprout (all black with white on his chest and belly) is outgoing, silly, great with dogs (helps our Pyrenees eat all of her meals), great with other cats, great with kids. Loves to be held and snuggled, loves water- I’ve started calling him the water warden because if he hears a tap running, he has to monitor it (and put his paws in it) until it’s shut off 😂 Sprout is really the perfect cat.

And then there’s Ma**er…

Ma**er (tuxedo) doesn’t care for dogs, he doesn’t like a lot of attention- everything is 100% on his own terms (He’s been with us since November and has only recently started coming to us for pets). He doesn’t like being held, he doesn’t like when things get too loud or busy. Basically, Ma**er doesn’t like a lot of things.

But Ma**er loves Sprout (and any cat that will love him back). Which is why I am hoping to find them a home together. Sprout would do great in any indoor environment- he’s just awesome. But I think Ma**er would struggle to adjust to a life without Sprout. Ma**er really connected with a former foster cat, Birdie, and he seemed depressed for weeks after she was adopted.

Sprout and Ma**er are not litter mates but are both around that 8.5-9 months of age. They’re both UTD on their vaccinations and have both been neutered.

FRITTER ❤️

I’m not sure how she is the last of the 4 I had from these litters! Look at this adorable girl! 😍

Fritter is a staffy X. She was the odd one out of the litter as she looks a little different than all her siblings.

Fritter is a little girl with a big attitude and personality! She loves to play and wrestle with all her housemates, but she will also let everyone know when she is done playing and will take them down and lay on top of them. It’s really cute since she is the smallest one in the house lol.

Fritter has been around cats, and is learning that not all cats like little puppies chasing them lol.

Fritter is 3 months old. She will probably be medium sized when fully grown.

Fritter is still working on p*e pad training and housetraining.

Look at this beautiful girl!! This is Spring!

We could all use a little Spring in our lives right now! 😉

This beautiful girl is looking for a forever home! She is a nice smaller medium sized dog (about knee high). She is roughly 10 months old. Staffy X.

Spring is such a great dog! The only problem is…. Spring has some issues with most Men. She will not be aggressive but will show her dissatisfaction. She would do well in a home where there are no men. 🥺 Spring gets along well with other dogs and with cats.

Isn't Rusty the cutest boy out there?
He's still waiting for someone to take him home.
We believe Rusty needs to go into a home with no other animals. He may beable to be successfully introduced to new animals in the future, but we believe it is in his best interest to feel comfortable with his new humans before more animals (if any) are introduced.

Remember the poor kitty that came in dripping blood, that we figured was attacked by a coyote or a dog. The poor boy who almost had his tail ripped off his body. Rusty has come leaps and bounds in his recovery, he gets to keep his tail, and also his life. He's enjoying some love given here by one of our wonderful volunteers, Zac. Rusty would love nothing more than for someone to give him a chance and to take him home. If you would like more information on Rusty, please message the page.

We would like to send out a special THANK YOU to all of our amazing fosters, volunteers, vets & donators. A huge recognition needs to be given to absolutely everyone who has reached out their hands to help in any way and make this rescue as successful as it has been for the past 10 years. Without absolutely each and everyone who has helped in anyway, we would not have been able to help all of the animals we have been able to help over these years. When you hear the saying "It takes a village" nothing could be closer to the truth. So, again we thank you for continuing to help us keep our dream alive.
