Paws and Claws Animal Rescue has been rescuing animals since February 2015. Many of our rescues come in as strays from poor living conditions from places in the surrounding areas. We take the time to assess each animal both mentally and physically before putting them up for adoption. Once the animal has been rescued, we place them into a foster home that is the best fit for him/her. Without our fo

ster parents, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many animals as we do. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and dedication our fosters provide for our rescues! All animals are vet checked and are up to date with their shots and a complete exam to make sure they are healthy before being put up for Adoption. Meet sweet Lillie! Lillie originally came into rescue at 8 weeks old, she quickly found what we had hoped was her forever home. Unfortunately things didn't work out and Lillie was brought back to the rescue at 10 months old. The reason for her return, we were told she was aggressive. We are her original fosters and I can assure you she was a sweet loving amazing pup. When Lillie came back it was clear she was not that same girl that left us. She was scared, nervous and withdrawn. Because she is very timid and stand offish we believe it has been mistaken for aggressiveness. We have had the joy of having Lillie back with us for a few months now and it's been a pleasure getting to know her again. She is a silly loving girl who loves her people. However she is extremely nervous around men until she gets to know them, but once she does look out this girl will be your best buddy. She will take some time to warm up but isn't aggressive towards people instead she prefers to step away and just watch. She really is a sweet heart. We have several resident dogs and fosters and she gets along with everyone, we find her to be more on the submissive side at our house. Lillie does appear to have an allergy to typical dog food so no chicken or Beef based anything for this girl, she does like her lamb and brown rice tho.

If you would like to meet Lillie you won't regret it, just remember she will need time and patience.

Lillie will be at the PAWS & CLAWS Animal Rescue Inc. Adoption center this weekend for her first adoption day Saturday from 12-4.

Looking for foster or foster to adopt❤️❤️

Thunder is a sweet 8-month-old puppy, who is loyal and loving.
He loves to snuggle.
He knows "sit, wait, and no".
He doesn't jump up unless he’s really excited and knows “off”
He’s super smart and trainable (food motivated)
He is protective of his house and yard.
He likes his crate - it’s a safe space for him; however, he sleeps at the foot of the bed at night.
He is fully house trained.
He walks good on the leash but still needs a bit of work. He likes car rides.
He’s been attending doggie daycare regularly and has been boarded and does well with this.
He is neutered and all his shots are up to date.
No cats. Caution with little kids (teens would be preferable for homing). Best guess breed ShepX

Ripley has a big personality and everyone else just has to put up with it 😅

Ripley has completed her yearly vaccinations and has been dewormed. She is approximately 4 months old.

She’s great with cats and dogs, is used to kids, is very very playful and would benefit from having a feline friend to keep her busy.

She is an amazing and sweet little girl. Loves to lays on the couch with her head on your knee for cuddles. And when she’s outside she plays hard. She is kenneled at night and we are working on housetraining which she is catching on fast, uses the p*e pad as well. She loves other dogs chases the cats, only wanting to play and loves humans.

Mattie would make a great addition to any family.

Simba is a big boy (85lbs) with a soft, easy going, affectionate personality. He loves belly rubs and will basically let you do anything to him as long as the belly rubs are happening, ie: clip his nails for the first time ever, yep doesn’t phase him at all!

He has a very thick coat and therefore loves being outside. He lives outside on an acreage with a heated dog house and does very well. Although he does come in the house for visits. Inside he is very calm and acts like he has always been in the house or like he belongs, he loves to find the dog bed and curl up. He loves people and kids, and gets along with other dogs. Simba would be a very loving loyal companion and would love to find his forever home.

Breed: Husky or Malamute x Shepherd?
Currently 30lbs at 4 months.
Vaccinated: Yes, received all three rounds of distemper/parvo and had had rabies vaccine.
Dewormed: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Not old enough yet.
Microchipped: Yes

Dane is pretty docile for a pup, content to occupy himself with a toy or he'll find himself a spot to flop down and put himself down for a nap. He enjoys playing with the larger resident dogs and the other puppy at his foster home. He also does well around cats and kids. He is very gentle, the kids say they like him because he's isn't crazy and he doesn't knock them over like other puppies tend to. If he does jump up he's very slow and gentle about it. Dane is also used to sleeping in a kennel at night & while his foster is at work. He'd make a great dog for someone looking for a nice calm companion.

And then there was two! 🐾 These two came in as wee pups and are growing up to look like some very fine gentlemen. They are the last two available from their litter.

Name: Kai and Griffin (males)
Birthday: Aug 21, 2025
Breed: Shepherd mix
Medical: Up to date with vaccines (3 rounds distemper/parvo plus rabies) until Nov 2026. Dewormed and microchipped.
Spayed/Nuetered: Not old enough yet.

Kai (brindle head and legs) is shy, loving, and cuddly with just a dash of mischief! He lives with several other fosters as well as resident dogs and cats and gets along with everyone.

Griffin (black and white) is the sweetest little man with a gentle, calm personality. He likes to play with his foster brothers and sisters but really enjoys a good snuggle. He will definitely keep you warm this winter with all his cuddles and kisses.

**Adoption fee is 250 each. They do not need to go together.**

A true gem! 💎

Medical: Received all three rounds of distemper/parvo boosters plus rabies, deworming and has been microchipped.
Spayed/Neutered: Not old enough yet.

If you remember Olive's story she came into rescue with two broken femurs after her initial x-rays things were a little grim as there was no way to repair them, so we had to wait and pray that they would heal on their own. 3 months later she is doing amazing and has healed up beautifully thanks to her magic puppy juices and the staff at the Animal Health Center of Melville P.C. Ltd. We thank you guys for following her closely and taking such good care of her. This amazing little girl managed to heal almost perfectly from her two broken bones and the vet has given her the all clear and she is now ready to find the perfect forever home. This little girl is a true gem!

Meet Cody. Cody is a sweetheart. He is a little shy at first so he may take a bit to warm up but once he does look out he is a little cuddle bug. He loves to play and run but cuddles are his favorite.

Cody is fostered with several dogs ranging in size from 10 to 140 lbs and does well with everyone...although sometimes he gets overwhelmed and chooses to hide until he's sure about everyone.
