The foal at the stables was entertaining himself with a stick 😆
A dust devil at the stables. A yearly wanted to to play with it😆
I am interested in geology and Cyprus is full of interest. This video is taken close to Captains stables.
Had a lovely hack this morning, not too hot and a nice breeze. (About 30c, 85f.)
It has been very hot here, (40's or over 100f). One of the stables dogs cool off by going for a swim. It is lovely to watch.
Had a lovely hack on Sunday climbing up and down some hills near the stables. It was windy too which helped with the flies and heat. The grey stone to the left is actually lava stone and is hard for Captain to walk over. The green area is a stream bed where bamboo is mostly growing.
After 6 months of hoping Captain would settle in the wide open spaces of the salt lakes, I moved him to a small private stables only 8 minutes from my parents home. Here the hills surround the stables in each direction and as there are only 10 horses he gets the individual attention he 'demands'! (Those who knows him know what I mean by that)🤣
Just arrived at the stables and this happens! I am told it is unusual for it to rain in May!
I gave Captain a carrot ball to entertain himself. This ball used to be Bernies. It is always funny watching them try to get the carrots!
This is the view behind the stables.
I visited another riding stables this last weekend. This one is about an hour away along the coast from where Captain is stabled. They were having a small dressage and jumping show. The sea breeze helped keep the flies away.
On a Sunday I ride out with some of the Germans at the stables. This week we ventured over to the salt lakes and paddled in the water.
I went in search of a beach to ride on.
It seems odd to be talking about hay growing in February, especially as Cyprus is in the northern hemisphere not the southern. They grow oat hay and alfalfa only here. Other kinds of hay have to be imported.
The weather is all over the place today, sunshine, clouds, rain and now hail!!
We rode a new track around the nature reserve next to the stables.
This is the view from the dressage show stables.
This is part of my journey home from the stables. The speed limit signs are kilometres not miles. The hills are limestone in my area. You can also see the wind turbines producing electricity.
Lovely trail ride this morning 🙂
