This is the first time I have encountered this problem.
Three batches of eggs rotted and died while and a few days after lying.
The first batch was due to too high humidity in the incubation box (never pack the vermiculite) and the third batch was a bit more wired.
The third batch came out looking like slugs, but all with a somewhat developed bullseye. I thought the eggs color was due to some issue with calcium and will dust the mice moving forward. But a week after in the incubator, they were all rotten (see picture).
The forth batch never even made it, as an egg punctured in the female, and even as freshly laid they smelled rotten.
So I fear that these two girls must have retained their eggs for too long inside them, and the eggs started developing inside them, lacked the nesserary air needed and died before they got out...
A sad situation, and am really unsure of what I can do moving forward with this issue, as mentioned I've never encountered this situation before in my 7 years of breeding. 😔
