If you only know peas from a can, you are in for a treat
🍭 Pea shoots are almost like candy!
Their sweet taste brings you directly into summer
They are absolutely gorgeous with their tendrils
Making any simple dish a spectacular dish, instantly
We love them raw in a salad, pure deliciousness!
And they are also great sources of fibre, chlorophyll,
Vitamins B, C, K & β-carotenes for vitamin A
Simply making them a great antioxidant source too.
They even contain 8 x more vitamin C than blueberries
And you can grow pea shoots all year round, at home:
1. Get organic pea seeds for growing microgreens
2. Soak your seeds for about 6 hours
3. Seed them in moist soil, or another substrate
4. Keep them in the dark for about 8 days (covered)
5. Water them every day
6. Then have them in a place with light for 6 days
7. Be amazed to see how quick they turn green :)
8. Keep on watering them every day
🌱 Harvest and enjoy!
What is your favourite summer dish?

Singapore Management University visiting the InstaGreen Farm
InstaGreen recently hosted a special group from the Singapore Management University. Twenty of the university's top students led by Associate Professor Wee-Liang Tan, made a site visit to InstaGreen as part of their educational tour of companies in Barcelona and Madrid. Naturally, InstaGreen welcomed their visitors with a tour at the indoor farm. Snipping their own samples of vibrantly colored microgreens growing in display trays, the group also enjoyed a microgreen tasting.
Co-founders Anneke and Remko talked about their early days running a start-up and how they hacked indoor urban farming methods to develop a defiantly low-tech and user-friendly cultivation system. They spoke candidly to the aspiring business professionals about the critical need to get feedback from future clients as a product or service evolves. Encouraging the students to test prototypes they might still be ashamed of. They furthermore talked about the importance of being open to learning from mishaps, as they can lead to innovation.
In the end, seven years of intensive R&D went into perfecting a simple growing system that is highly replicable. These days, the team of InstaGreen is busy training entrepreneurs from all around the world to use InstaGreen's cultivation system and business model. Now that this local start-up has gone global, InstaGreen is exporting its vision of bringing locally cultivated fresh, delicious and nutritious food to more urban communities, while doing good for people and the planet.
