⚠️ PRACTICE UPDATE - CHANGES TO PRESCRIBING RULES ⚠️

Since September last year, and officially from Friday this week, new prescribing rules mandated by the RCVS regarding veterinarian prescription only medicine (POM-V) are coming into effect. This is to help tackle antibiotic resistance, environmental impact, and support safe prescribing.

In many cases protocols will be very similar and might not impact you at all, but you may notice some changes to our prescribing abilities, particularly with flea and worming medication, and we ask that you remain understanding whilst we do our best to adhere to the new rules.

From Friday, anti-parasitics (flea/tick and worm treatment) will be in the same band as antibiotics/antimicrobials and controlled drugs (eg strong pain medication) which means your pet will need an in-person assessment (appointment) before the *new prescription* is dispensed. This could result in slightly more frequent in-practice checks than what you are currently used to.
NB 'new prescription' refers to a different drug, dose or frequency of dosing than what your pet is currently on, or when their current prescription comes to an end, based on the notes your vet has written.

We politely ask that you remember these changes have been mandated by the RCVS, and to please be considerate in your communications with staff. Our aim is to help you at all times whilst remaining compliant with the new guidance.

Over 7 miles: 1 visit for 2 cats = £13.50 (£12 + £1.50)

Up to 7 miles distance: 2 visits for 2 cats = £20

(For distances over 7 miles add £1.50 for each visit. Add £3 for 2 visits)
Over 7 miles: 2 visits for 2 cats = £23 (£20 + £3)
