Pyometra. A cautionary tale. This is the farms Labrador Mabli who this time last week was fit and healthy (or so we thought) last Sunday evening Mabli became critically ill with pyometra and was rushed to the vets where they were able to operate and save her life. Many thanks to the excellent team Bodrwnsiwn Vets for all their help and care looking after Mabli during her overnight stays.

Pyometra is an infection of the womb and is a very serious condition that requires immediate vet attention. All owners of entire female dogs should familiarise themselves with the symptoms of Pyometra as an early diagnosis and prompt veterinary attention is critical.

This is why at the kennels we ask all owners of female dogs details regarding their seasons (this does not apply to spayed females). As we are aware of ‘pyo’ and are looking out for possible signs/symptoms of this condition. Also having these details will be important should we suspect ‘pyo’ and need to take your dog to the vet.

Mabli was very lucky that we caught her symptoms in time and that she received excellent veterinary care and should make a full recovery 😀

The kennels will be closed to our human customers from this Friday 14th July at 5pm until Monday the 17th July at 8.30am. Whilst we host a private family function.

We will respond to any messages, calls etc once we reopen on Monday morning.

We have just received notification from the building contractors regarding the works for the next couple of weeks.

Please be aware that it may take longer than normal to reach us with the traffic lights so please allow extra time when dropping off / collecting your pets.

Hopefully the work will be concluded very soon 😀

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS ON MONDAY 27th FEB.

Please note that the a*5 junction 13 slip road (eastbound) will be closed on Monday 27th February between 6am and 10am.

The contractors have informed us that diversions will be in place and properly signposted.

Please allow extra time to get to us if you are picking up/ dropping off your pets.

We are assured that all works will be completed by the 31st March 😀
