Luckily, we were in the very, very early stages of planning & setting up the business in Exeter meaning we haven't had to cancel any appointments, transfer clients or let any customers down!

I'd like to thank the community of Exeter & also the vast array of wonderful independent businesses for the recommendations, support & engagement we recieved to help our little business at the very start.

Due to unforseen circumstances I will be moving back to my hometown of Barry in the very near future, I'll be putting all of my energy into finding a suitable location to work from over the next few weeks so pease keep me in mind when looking for a fully qualified groomer to keep your pooches looking wonderful.

I look forward to being able to update the folks of Barry with some good news in due course ❤️

A simple working dog 7FC special clip off for this lovely boy today at the customers request.

We worked on different handling techniques to make him comfortable along with lots of positive reinforcement as he's a very nervous boy, he did marvellously ⭐️

First dog of the new year was little tiny Teddy 🐻

Don't let the fact that he still looks like a puppy fool you, he's actually a senior old gentleman at the ripe age of 10 & a half ❤️

Ted's very fussy about his legs being touched & due to his age doesn't stand well for long periods of time so just a quick snippy of these & the toebeans to get him looking better.

I am so pleased with this cut, it was my first ever full poodle groom & great to be able to work on some scissor skills!

Found some time to give my own little girl, Betsy boo boos a well overdue trim today 🖤

Not the cleanest because she's a proper wriggle bum that absolutely refuses to keep her head still for more than 3 seconds at a meaning putting sharp tools next to her little face & body could be be a recipe for disaster.

Whilst grooming, we're also reading body language, listening to what the dog's are telling us & knowing when to stop because we want each dog to have a positive, stress free, relaxing experience with us.

She's had enough for today now so we pack up tools & finesse some of those stray hairs away tomorrow!

I swear, she's the devil reincarnated, even if she does look like an angel 😇

Not the most perfect finish as Poppy is an old girl that can get quite stressed, fidgety & panty so for her welfare we just so a nice quick short clip all over and a bit of time trimming her face to make it pop ❤️

⭐️ Handsome George the CKCS ⭐️

Georgie is fully deaf so grooming him was such a different learning experience - lots of sensory touching, wee breaks, facial expressions & cuddles to put him at ease.

I'm really lucky that where I went to college integrated dog behaviour and body language into the course so that as learners we got to be able to read & try to understand the dogs individual boundaries and fears & make the grooming experience as relaxed and calming as we possible can for them.

Hello All 🖐

Here's a little welcome & introduction to The Groom Haus.

I've always worked with teenagers & young adults in the housing/homeless sector but after a move to Devon decided I was burnt out, not feeling fulfilled anymore & decided that a career change was in order.

I'm fully competent in completing basic grooms independently however I will be returning to college in September to complete City & Guilds Level 3 & learn more of the breed standard, show cuts & hand stripping techniques.

I'm not currently going to be taking on any new clients/dogs but will be hoping to set up a home/garden studio in the next few months in lovely Exeter so watch this space, any questions please feel free to reach out or give me a shout!
