It has been such a very hot spell, please remember to provide plenty shady areas and cool water for your fur babes. We may be able to wear shorts and lighter tops but they cannot.

If you have an ceramic tiles left from redoing your kitchen or bathroom these are idea for buns or pigs to lie on to cool down (keep in the shade)

Water dishes as well as bottles as bunnies like to cool off too.

A clean spray bottle of cool water to spray a fine mist over them (avoid eyes) helps to cool furry ones. Remember and change the water regularly.

Same applies to Indoor buns, pigs, hamsters, rats and mice etc.

🐰🐇 Keep your Bunnies warm 🐰🐇

Save old Amazon bubble wrap packaging to put over outside bunnies water bottles to help stop them freezing. It has been a cold harsh spell with possibly more on the way. Check that the ball in their water spout has not stuck with the frost too, preventing your bunnies from getting a drink.

Keep bedding dry and pack plenty straw in to their hutches to allow rabbits to burrow into this to keep warm. If you have a cover over their hutch make sure it has air vents. Protect you fur babies in the frost so they can live hoppily ever after. 🐰🐇

Do not bring outside bunnies inside however tempting this is. They will start to shed their fur and not be able to keep themselves warm when you return them outside.

We enjoyed the company of a regular guinea pig 🐹, a new baby bunny 🐰, welcoming back a client and oldest guinea boarder of 7 years. For this old gent we encourage him to move more by placing our home grown herbs around to avoid impactation issues.

Whew what a hot, hot couple of days we have had. I felt like the sun Police with all guests outside but with runs and hideaways covered with soaked towels. I even butchered our old gazebo to use as a large cover to shade bunnies.

I sprayed with a very fine mist with cool water all guests whilst Guineas and bigger /older Buns had cool packs or cool mats to lay on which they didn't, typical lol. Night snack was cucumber, apple and bananas to hydrate and quick energy replacement with their usual vegetables later.

Air con (last years purchase) and our newest large floor fan purchased this month on to cool down their night accommodation before putting them all in.

All are OK and glad today is cooler as am I 😴

Busy period has started, while fur parents enjoy their holiday we keep their furry family fed, entertained and more importantly cool in the recent heat. 🐰🐹🐭🐁

It's getting busy, guinea pig boom and more rabbits due soon. 2 mini guests yes hamsters and rats arriving soon too. Just love it when I go to feed my furry guests and all the Guinea pigs start wheeking. Rabbit guests give me those eyes like you know you want to feed me first 🐇🐹🤩😍 I'm a suckered for furries ❤

To avoid bunnies being bored use a cardboard box with just a few cuts in the top. Pop in a couple of cut grapes and let them happily forage 🐰🐇
