Autumn is upon us and although the days are still golden, they can get chilly and windy, not to mention an occassional shower. This cute owl snood will keep those long necks warm during field and forest adventures 🍃🍂🍁

I used a soft and cosy DK weight yarn in natural colour with black and brown specks, and two buttons for the cute owl's eyes.

💜 STRING OF HEARTS 💜

Let's celebrate May - the month of love - in style! Not the warmest spring in our corner of the world this year, so a snood may come handy.

I used a DK weight yarn in a lovely shade called 'grape' (the shade used in the sampler is 'old rose'). The panel of intertwined hearts is a real eye-catcher!

Gorgeous boy Ralphie is taking modelling very seriously 😊

He is wearing a black snood in DK weight and an intricate cable pattern. Does not black look awesome on his tan coat?

The snood is slightly oversized at the moment, because Ralphie still has a lot of growing to do, but it is exactly how his human wanted it. The fit will be perfect before the autumn chills hit again; the size has been measured to a grown up Hungarian viszla.

I love this elaborate cable lattice pattern! It creates a structured 3D effect on the knit. The yarn used here is a DK weight in a stylish 'salt & pepper' merle.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL (NOT)

So far, I made bespoke snoods for a Whippet puppy, a Hungarian Viszla, an Australian Shepherd, a cute pair of French Bulldogs, an English Bulldog, a Cockapoo, several Greyhounds of various ages and sizes, and an impressive pair of rather huge Great Danes.

It's hardly a surprise that one size does not always fit all 😉

The breed and age of your dog gives me a good idea of the snood size. And a picture is worth a thousand words! However, it's always best if you can measure your dog's neck (the length and the circumference).

One of my first canine customers. The snood is a cable knit in olive green & cream merle 100% wool. Very soft, warm and cosy.

The material used here is a leftover yarn from a cardigan I made for my husband, in the same cable pattern. It's his favourite 😄

I may have enough of that yarn left for a small to medium sized snood; get in touch before it's gone!

I started knitting dog snoods as a one-off project before Christmas 2020, to use up some leftover yarns from my larger knitting projects.

The response was just amazing, and the feed-back I was getting on my work so encouraging 🙏 Soon came requests for specific colours, styles and sizes - honestly, I've been knitting away ever since ☺️

The original stash of snoods is long gone; I still make snoods that are ready to ship, and you will occasionally find them here. Most of my snoods though are bespoke commissions, made to individual measurements. The good thing about a bespoke snood is that it fits better, and besides, you get to pick a style, colour and pattern 🤩
