Established in 1997, Collytown stud is situated on the picturesque border of Devon and Cornwall and is home to over a hundred registered pedigree shetland ponies of miniature size, the majority between 28 to 32 inches (excluding our ridden shetlands)
With herds of excellent pedigree and bloodlines boasting a variety of both broken and solid colour we are proudly producing homebred stock of quality

and substance. Breeding ponies with correct confirmation and exceptional free movement, we pride ourselves on our shetlands being friendly, easy to handle and a pleasure to own. In addition to breeding the ponies we also hold several events throughout the year which include:

Orphan foal update.....
'Baby Jess' is doing really well and now taking her milk from a bottle.
Our mare Solytaire although accepting of her is still not producing enough milk to feed her but we remain hopeful.
At least they have each other 🥰

Well its Sunday the end of a very tough and bitter sweet week.
We lost our beautiful brood mare Collytown Firefly due to complications in labour, we were with her the entire time but sadly she couldn't be saved.
Thankfully due to the bravery & quick response from Jess of Hallum Equine Vets we had a beautiful live filly foal born by c-section.

Having had another mare loose her foal 3 weeks ago we are currently trying to unite that mare & this foal, the mare is receiving treatment to bring her back into milk & she is surprisingly quite willing but the foal is struggling with lack of suck reflex.
Everyone who knows mum (Alyson) will know she is not easily defeated and is 100% committed & determined this foal will survive 💪
Today after days of feeding her every two hours by syringe shes started to suck on a bottle 🥹
Hopefully soon we can get her feeding from the Foster mare 🤞❤️
Breeding is certainly not for the faint hearted...
