How to trim your dogs paw pads & round feet
Hello everyone! How are you all doing? We miss you!
Thought I would make the most of the sunshine today and get another video for you as requested!
I hope this helps, even with my rambles and the dodgy cameraman π
β Don't use scissors on paw pads
β Don't clip fur until it's clean and dry
β Don't do anything if you're not comfortable or your dog is not very cooperative!
β
If possible, think about putting your dog up on something to make it a more comfortable height
β
Lift a different paw when scissoring around feet to stop them fidgeting
β
Give your good doggo all the biscuits π
I've had a look for some trimmers but it seems that there are very few options at the moment! Many places are sold out. I haven't used these personally, and they have mixed reviews, but they're not too expensive and may do the job for now? And they're a brand I would trust.

Trimming your dogs eyes
Hello!
Quite a few of you have asked how to trim between your dogs eyes, so we thought we would film a quick demonstration! π
Here are some thinning scissors I have found from Amazon that are well reviewed.

Remember to take a lot of care with the angle of your scissors!

Brushing your dog
Hello! As promised, here is the first of our videos about maintaining your dogs coat at home. This video is about brushing, and is mostly aimed at fluffy or curly coats, such as cockapoos, labradoodles, bichon frise, poodles, shihtzus, coton de tulear etc.
I apologise in advance, it's a bit waffley, i'm not used to making videos! Hopefully it is a little bit helpful though :-)
Couple of points I missed-
* Be careful of the pressure used with the slicker brush, with very thick, long haired dogs you can brush a bit harder, but if their coat is short/thinner, you just need to be careful not to cause slicker burn, as this can be painful. The same sort of pressure you use to brush your own hair should be okay. Don't rely on them to react if they are uncomfortable, Cassie would not tell me if she was uncomfortable, she would just put up with it because she is too eager to please me, so your dog may be the same!
* A good tip is to put them somewhere (size dependent!) when you brush them, so that they get into the habit of knowing that this means it is time to be brushed. Also it is easier for you. Some people use the top of the washing machine, an ironing board etc- Obviously just be very very careful that they don't fall/jump off and hurt themselves!
* I didn't use a detangling spray in the video as I don't actually have one here (I will be ordering one today!), but this can really help to make brushing easier and more efficient.
As mentioned in the video, I have put some links below for tools and products that we recommend, and you should be able to order these at the moment. Any problems, just let us know and we can recommend something else :-) Unfortunately, the amazing brushes that we use in the salon are not available to be ordered at the moment as the company is closed, but these should be good alternatives.
