Skye the Cockapoo for her shave off 🐶✂️

She’s recently been adopted and was desperate for a groom. At one point you’d think I was shearing a sheep 😅

She did amazing considering how young she is and what was being asked of her.

Poodles and poodle mixes require grooming every 6-8 weeks to avoid this and regular line brushing at home. This way you keep your dog feeling good and pain free 🙂

You don’t normally get to see the matted shave offs because it can be a bit embarrassing for owners but here’s one where the dog has found a new home after not being groomed for either a long time or not at all. Some of the pictures are too graphic to show but it really highlights how important regular grooming is on poodle mixes. Poor boy had matting so tight around his privates that I’m surprised he could even walk. But to look at him, you couldn’t imagine how bad it had gotten underneath due to the top just looking a bit scraggy.

Shame as he’s such a nice dog with beautiful markings 🐶

**Prices for September**

Desheds to remain (Labs/Huskies/GSD etc)

Prices From (Typically applicable if on 6-8 week schedules, up to 10 for spaniels)

Terrier Clip Offs: remain at £35

Spaniels:

Tidy Ups- £30
Clip Offs- £40

Poodle Mixes:

Toy- £40
Medium- £45
Large- £50
XL- £60

Matting fees start at £10

Flea charges start at £10

After a half year review of finances it has become apparent that things are costing more than anticipated.

Being one to one, I don’t have dogs sat in cages drying whilst I’m grooming others and I don’t aspire to run this way.

There is also the issue that I’ve been undercutting other groomers in the area who’ve welcomed me and some have actually sent me new clients.

I’ve published this now so that if you’re wanting to move elsewhere, there is enough time to get booked in on your regular schedule. Anyone already booked in will pay the price they agreed to previously.

Aside from doing interim eye trims, I’m going to start offering just brushing without a bath. This is mainly aimed at poodle and doodle mixes as they’re usually the quickest to knot up.

The added bonus is that if your dog is a bit nervous of dryers/clippers it will help them get used to me and the process so that come full groom time it’s less stressful for them.

Price wise it’ll be heavily dependent on the coat condition/size but will start at £15. I’m hoping this will reduce the amount of matted shave offs I’m currently doing for these breeds. I appreciate not everyone has the time to line brush regularly but it’s absolutely awful having to shave them so short.

In the long run it’ll cost the same or less than matted shave off fees and the dog will look and feel better for it.
