Busy day in the yard but always a delight to have the muck heap emptied!
All the horses ridden today - could with just a quick burst of rain though, a sand / rubber school gets really dusty & deep when it’s this dry!
Yard blown & swept, school edges manually brought in & graded! Lovely cool evening for jobs!
(Excuse rotten / broken fencing - landlord not tenant responsibility!)
It’s been an eventful summer after Harrison & Paddy’s (Big M) horrific jumping accident Coombelands Equestrian.
Both Harrison & Paddy have healed from their injuries and are back up to full competition fitness!
We ventured off in our lorry to Chepstow in August for a quite damp end of season show.
Both Paddy & Bill went beautifully under the sensitive piloting of Harrison.
Bill was placed on Day 1 and unplaced but ‘in the money’ on Day 2.
Paddy had some lovely rounds but was ‘asked’ for rhythm & control to build his confidence rather than his usual speed merchant approach!
The superstar of the show was Rocky, our 5yo younger relative of Bill & out of Renkum Rock n’ Roll, who has only been to a handful of BS shows.
His first away show and a busy one at that! He took it all in his stride - jumped 3 days with a couple of poles on Day 1, a jockey ‘requested’ controlled round for a time fault on Day 2 & DC on Day 3.
We are delighted to have Rocky home, having had the best start to his show jumping career with Joe Maher, Tim Puddifoot & their great team at Royale Equine. We look forward to working with Joe & Tim ongoing, as their experience & support is invaluable.

It’s a busy week!
Lovely outing for Paddy & Bear to Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre for the first time - what a stunning venue!
Had a really great schooling session & both boys are going beautifully.
Saddle checks & ?new saddle for the boys - thanks for dropping by while you are at Hickstead Sederholm!
Mass tack cleaning session/s - all home & show tack! Feels good to have all our ‘ducks in a row’!
(Paddy below being amazing)
The week has gone so fast - I’ve barely caught up with myself!
Chef was a superstar at Parwood last Sunday and won the Discovery section of his class - the weather was glorious as equally was the burger van!
Had a lovely quickie schooling session on Chef (in video) & Bear for Harrison on Sunday at Felbridge. Both boys went beautifully!
Popped up to Coombelands Equestrian this morning for a quick schooling session with Bill & Chef.
Bill was amazing as usual & Harrison Buttonironed out a few ‘communication issues’ he was having with Chef.
Great session - onwards & upwards! (Super Chef below)
Saturday had to be the coldest day to be jumping at Felbridge.
Both boys in the Foxhunter with Chef sadly having a couple of poles - not sure what stride Harrison was seeing but it wasn’t one that worked for Chef 🤔
The ever amazing Bill had a DC & 10th place - he now has his qualification for the 2022 second rounds!
Busy & very chilly Saturday at Felbridge.
Chef jumped the Accumulator with some surprisingly competitive riding & turns from Harrison. Sadly a pole but delighted he’s really pushing Chef for more!
Bill had a lovely DC in the Foxhunters for a 5th!
Great day for Harrison and Bill at Felbridge yesterday - 2nd in the largest Newcomers class known to man!
A great end to our first FEI CSI 2* at Keysoe. Harrison jumped a lovely round with an unfortunate pole at the second to last, which still left him in the top third of a very large field.
We had a good laugh, made some new friends, met some old friends & learnt a few things along the way!
Thanks - as always - to my ‘super groom’ Georgie Griffin- Smith freelance instructor & rider for keeping Bill looking beautiful, taming the jockey & always being keen to take an afternoon nap break!
Let’s see where our next FEI adventure takes us….
Harrison rode a really lovely, forward round but ‘came a cropper’ the the boat oxer where striding & timings just didn’t work. They retired, as Harrison wanted to make sure that Bill hadn’t injured himself when he got a bit tangled in the poles. Bill is absolutely fine & chilling in his stable.
Just arrived safely at Keysoe for 3 days of fun filled FEI 2* showjumping! Harrison Button Georgie Griffin- Smith freelance instructor & rider
First little pop on little chef!
Day 3 - Chard FEI CSI 1*
Another glorious day here in Chard - excluding the horses breaking out of the stables at 05:30 (not Bill) & the barking dog waking us all up!
Harrison rode in the 120 speed class this afternoon & rode a DC to come 11th (approx. 60 starters) & in the money.
(It was a hard round to watch, as Harrison did fall off - onto his feet - in the warm up, as he was too busy counting strides and forgot to kick on! Compulsory check over by the medics gave him the all clear to compete.)

Day 2 - Chard FEI CSI 1*
From glorious sun to horizontal hail & back to sun again!
A lovely double clear from Harrison & Bill in a very strong, adult class resulted in 15th place! A good day!
