Good morning everyone 😁
June, July and August are my busiest months with lots of clients going away. I understand how upsetting it can be to leave your pets so I take my role very seriously. I treat your pets like I treat my own. I get to know each animal paying attention to body their language and changes to their voice… animals are very good at telling you to back off. Remember, I am a stranger to them until they get to know me. So that’s what I do by playing with them and usually chatting about my day so they can hear there is no threat in my voice or my demeanour. I also take string with me as i hay not yet met a cat that doesn’t like string

I love my cats with all my heart…
Apart from when Kitty cat Kasha tried to catch a young magpie and was then mobbed by the parents!!! So I have spent the last hour trying to catch the baby magpie and avoid being attacked! Baby saved and back with parents. But magpies don’t forget. 😩

Have a look at my gorgeous new client, better keep him away from the cats! There are 2 fabulous boys and spending time with them is mesmerising I had birds as pets as a child so it’s wonderful to be able to be so close to them again I think I’m in love 💕

Kittens, Kittens, Kittens!!!

Unfortunately, cats can get pregnant several times a year and can give birth to multiple kittens. So it’s a constant battle to help them all.

And this is the reason I love what I do 😊 looking after other peoples cats when they are away is lovely as I build up a relationship with them, I earn their trust, ease their anxiety, play with them. Of course as soon as I feed them they are happy. Most cats are curious and maybe a bit unsure at first but that soon passes. So if you need help t your cats and other indoor pets just get in touch….

I would like to send this message of thanks;
To my adorable cat and her latest prank;
Bringing me the gift of mouse;
Alive and well and well and loose in the house;
At 1am when I should be asleep;
Chasing a critter that can’t half leap;
Put outside so she needs to think;
“How to give my human this gift?”
At the bedroom window she appears;
Pleased with herself she cries to be let in;
Lots of discussion through the window slit;
“There’s no bloody way your coming in with it;
Make your choice, it’s me or the mouse;”
Finally she admits defeat;
And falls asleep curled up by my feet;
...... probably planning a similar treat for me tonight

If you are thinking about buying that loved one flowers for Valentine's Day, we'd strong advise not to buy them lilies if they have a cat. Lilies are highly toxic to cats and cause kidney failure if eaten.

Morning everyone, I have not posted for a while with one thing or another , but this has been on my mind for some time.

I have been supporting Stray cat rescue team West Midlands over the years with donations of food, toys and other items they could use. However, going forward, I will be donating 10% of my cat sitting earnings directly to the charity. It’s a subject close to my heart as a massive animal lover generally and cats in particular. My current cats came knocking on my door asking for a home, and now have a life of luxury 😻
But there are so many strays in need of rescue and loving homes and this charity work so hard to help as many as they can, and I want to help them and spread the word 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Beautiful Fern was living in a garden shed with her two sons, being fed by kind neighbours. Thankfully they decided to get help for this little family and this is where their story really begins.
Fern is only around 12-18 months old, and is the sweetest little thing. She loves company, and will chat away to me when I go in to visit her.
Although she did an amazing job at raising two strong sons, she is now ready for some ‘me’ time. Fern would be fine living with another calm, friendly cat as she is so chilled; or be equally happy as a sole feline with all the attention to herself. We think she will definitely enjoy some safe outdoor time once she is settled in her forever home - so a catio or cat proof garden, or away from busy roads is a must please.
Fern is in full health, with her whole life ahead of her - she just needs a loving human to open their heart and their home ❤️ could that be you?

Stray cats West Midlands are in need of funds to hey pay for saving so many stray and abandoned cats. If you can help in any way, they will be thrilled

Please read - it may be a long one but PLEASE take the time to read it…… IMPORTANT 🚨

🚨 We cannot take in anymore until we raise major funds……..

We pride ourselves on being a rescue who TRIES to take on the cats that other rescues can’t due to not having a large following to fundraise, OR because our vets are experienced in FIP and critical cases. But right now, as of today- we are saying NO to all intakes.
It’s not something we want to do, but we don’t have the funds to do anymore. We don’t have the space either.
Space isn’t so much an issue when a collapsed case comes in as it goes straight to the emergency vets and is in there for a few days whilst I work out where to put them if they are lucky enough to survive and make it out the vets…..

However, right now we are averaging 25k a month. Yes 20-25k A MONTH……

This bill shown here is for Cavan. This is our main vets that we use for neuter, spays, dentals & other surgeries.
Truth be told, SCRT cats are in Cavan DAILY. They are extremely good to us and we get great prices.

Medivet changes weekly depending on how many emergencies we have in. Some weeks it can be 3-4, some weeks zero….. Right now it’s Toto in and five critical kittens.

And then, we have Rosie - who we send our special cases too…..

And then we have our referrals who get sent off to referral centres all over the country…. Just like the little kitten we have in Willows referral centre.

Then we have 240 in care and a lot of them are on ongoing meds, special diets and of course need food litter and various things daily.

Basically - right now things are really bad. I mean terrible. My head hurts I’ve had so much stress at the moment….. everyone is knackered. All rescues are.

At the end of this year (end of Dec) I’m going to find out how much we have spent at each vets and total it up….

Either way, we need to raise funds and fast. Right now, we will HAVE to say NO to the next emergency.
