Is anyone missing this really lovely little cat?
Brought in on the 7th June from Wilpshire Road, Rishton area.
Sadly not microchipped so unable to find an owner?
Brought to the practice and has recovered really well, but we need to find an owner, if we can.
Can you all help spread the word around balckburn area and 🤞 we can reunite them. 😃🐱🐈 Video in comments. Thanks

We suddenly have some chirping sounds coming from just above our front door at home. Baby swallows have hatched...and whilst this always fills us with joy to see and hear them, it does remind us that we are back to that time of year again when many of us find young birds, out of their nest, and we are often unsure what to do to save them. Please follow this link for guidance regarding any young birds you find. Thank you 🐦

Happy
Showing our gratitude to all the wonderful vets around the world on World Vet Day 🐾🌟

Did you know today is World Vet Day? We want to extend a massive THANK YOU to all the amazing veterinarian surgeons who work so hard to ensure the health and well-being of our beloved animals around the world. 🩺🐶🐱
✨World Veterinary Day ✨

We also wanted to thank our amazing small team of vets (John, Sam, Chelsea and our locums Dermot and Matteo) for all that they do not just today but everyday🤩

They all strive to care for your pets as they would their own🥰

World veterinary day celebrates the veterinary profession and honours the lifesaving work performed by vets🐾🤩

Take a moment to celebrate and recognize these remarkable individuals who strive to care for all our pets. You are appreciated more than words can express. 🙏

Happy World Vet Day! 🌟🎉

It's been a dog and bird rescue day today 🐦🐶❤

Absolutely gorgeous tiny long tailed tit we admitted after a call from Daisy St vets. :) She had a dropped wing but after vet Sam carefully examined him, no obvious breaks. Hopefully it's just some soft tissue damage and we can get him flying again. 🤞

This Remembrance Day, we are remembering all those men and animals, who gave their lives to save ours.

Many people may not realise that during wartime, cats served as companions and kept ships free of vermin. 🐈

In addition to the contributions of cats, mules carried artillery, horses transported troops and hauled field guns, pigeons delivered crucial messages and dogs served as messengers, medical assistants, bomb detectors and search and rescue workers. 🐎🐪🐂🕊️🐶🐈

It is estimated that 484,143 horses, mules, camels and bullocks died during the First World War and an unknown amount of dogs, cats, pigeons and other animals. 😿

On 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we want to honour both the veterans and the animals who bravely served by their side. 🌺💜

Most of you will be aware that dogs have had to be micro-chipped by law since 2016, but are you aware that your cat will also need to be micro-chipped by law next year as well?

Today is International Dog Day 🐕🐾

This is quite a hard day for me today as yesterday I had to sadly euthanise one of my own dogs, Stumpy.

Our dogs have such an impact on our lives and help make this world such a better place.
Let's all celebrate the wonder and love we have for our dogs. We would love to see all your lovely dogs...post a photo below xx

Can anyone local to the practice help?
A male, white with ginger cat has just had a Road Traffic Accident on Brookhouse Lane, near the Perry's garage, close to the practice. He has been brought to us.
He is not microchipped and so we are trying to find his owner to discuss to treatment options.
Please share and let's see if we can find his owner.
Thank you

Let's all enjoy Christmas and keep our pets safe and sound during the festivities 🎄🥳

Animal lovers are being encouraged to keep their pets safe this festive season by pet proofing their Christmas, ensuring anything which may be mistaken for a tasty treat is out of paw’s reach.

So very sad 😔

💔 A Sad Update 💔

Remember sweet Bobby, who came in to us a at the end of last month? We found Bobby an amazing foster home, where he was very happy and loved. Sadly a week later, Bobby tested positive for parvo, and although he was rushed to the vet, he was too sick to be saved, and crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend.

We have had an influx of bull breed puppies, dumped after their value has dropped and they can no longer be sold. Bobby was found in a bin shed. These unscrupulous breeders are not getting puppies vaccinated, and they can get very sick, like Bobby. These are preventable illnesses.

Please don't buy from one of these breeders, the mothers are exploited and seen as disposable - as are the puppies when they cannot be sold. We do all we can to help these dogs, but sometimes it is too late. Please think rescue when you are thinking of getting a dog, and make sure you get your pets vaccinated every year.

Please help spread the word & keep wildlife safe this weekend/bonfire night. Hedgehogs and many other species of wildlife will see a bonfire as a ready-made shelter!
So please remember to always carefully turn over and check bonfires before lighting if you can and even better yet - it's best not to build a bonfire in advance...have fun building and then lighting all in one event...lets keep our wildlife safe ❤ Thank you!
Thank you Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital for your post & photo. 🦔
