🐈Veterinary Nursing Month...Meet Ethan 🐈

Ethan works at both our Spalding and Bourne branches and we are sure many of you will have met him during Nurse Consults .We asked him to tell us a little about himself.

I have been qualified for almost a year now (beginning August), and have been working as an RVN in Alders Vet Practice throughout this time. I have enjoyed every minute of working in this role, and even as a student nurse around Spalding & Stamford I found my job to be interesting and thought-provoking. The time spent with animals of varying sizes, breeds, and behaviours has always been a highlight, and I've always had a keen heart for imaging and theatre work. Although I do find myself tripping over my words frequently when it comes to complex discussions and topics (or even just names), I will always strive to improve my quality of work with both clients and patients!

"In my free time I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons with my close friends, and always love to relax with my three cats at home! Writing and reading are also big hobbies of mine, with fantasy and sci-fi being my favourite topics."

Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 🐈😺

May is nearly over and we haven't introduced you to our amazing team of RVNs yet !!!! Vanessa is first up , there will be more we are busy chasing our other nurses for their photos before we run out of month 🤣🤣

Vanessa Qualifed as a veterinary nurse in 1990 she spent over a decade working in a variety of nursing roles until her career progressed down a senior management/leadership route within a large animal welfare organisation.
In 2023 she returned to a ‘hands on’ veterinary nursing role at Alders and is enjoying being back working directly with pets and their owners. She's passionate about her role, utilising her clinical skills as well as applying a caring and empathetic approach.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her husband and daughter (currently away studying at Uni) and spoilt ‘princess’ Tilly her beloved miniature labradoodle, who although in her senior years keeps her on her toes!

**Wednesday was National Receptionist Day**

Our Reception team are your first point of contact on the phone , responding to your emails or face to face in reception They are the heart of Alders and without them every thing would slowly collapse around us all. They laugh with you , they cry with you and we know you appreciate them as much as we do .

We may be a couple of days late , but everyday should be Receptionist Appreciation Day in this practice.

Thankyou Sarah , Billeigh , Tina , Sue , Karen , Diane and Tracy ❤️❤️

We just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you that have allowed your appointments to be changed and shuffled this week and over the next two weeks . Our beautiful vet Maria has tried so hard to keep up with the physical work load and to keep going until her new arrival was due but her body has told her what's best and she's made the right decision to start her maternity leave a little early for the safety of her and baby ❤️. We now have new diaries in place and Deirdre and Julian will be working alongside some familiar locum faces, on occasion you may be offered an appointment at our branch surgery if it's an emergency. There may be days where one vet may be seeing a few more clients than is normal for the day so we really do appreciate your patience. Our nursing team will be supporting our vet team and our reception team will be working hard to ensure we run as smoothly as possible. We know you'll all join us in wishing Maria and her family a safe remaining pregnancy and we will let you know when little one is here safe and sound ❤️❤️

We are very proud of being an Approved Training Practice and love to see the passion and enthusiasm our Student Veterinary Nurses show. Charlotte is a second year student very close to becoming qualified, she's a familiar face in both our practices and we are sure you'll have seen her smiling face whilst visiting. Whenever we lose her in practice we can usually guarantee she'll be found in a kennel with one of our inpatients . Here she is with Mia doing her post op monitoring. ***whilst we all indulge in the Christmas treats you've all kindly brought in , Charlotte has to abstain as Gluten is not her friend ....If anyone wants to say a special thankyou to Charlotte a little box of something gluten free would make her Christmas 🎄❤️
