NEW CHICK ALERT – We have great pleasure in sharing with you the news that two Swainson’s “Rainbow” Lorikeet chicks hatched on 18th May. We’re expecting them to fledge from their next box in the next few days, so why not bring your “flock” to see ours, this weekend! 🐣🦜

It's not just the Flamingos that are "In the Pink", here at Birdland. Our Scarlet Ibis are also a beautiful striking colour. 🦩🦩

Similar to flamingos, they too get their vibrant colouration from the carotene found in the food they eat.

Today we are celebrating National Pigeon Day in honour of Cher Ami, a homing pigeon owned and flown by the U.S. Army Signal Corps in France during World War I.

It also gives us a chance to showcase our seven species of Pigeons and Doves here at Birdland Park and Gardens.

Did you know that the name of the bird family consisting of doves and pigeons is called Columbidae and is in the order Columbiformes. The now extinct Dodo was part of the same family.

To show our support during Men's Heath Week, we have teamed up with phs Group and Prostate Cancer UK to provide a Discreet, Dignified, Disposal bin in a designated cubicle within our newly refurbished toilet block. This sits next to our Changing Places UK toilet which is supporting our desire to create a comfortable and accessible park for all.
