No number of photos would demonstrate how much we enjoyed our Skylands 2024 trip. Masses of fun and lots of learning thanks to the incredible coaching and superb hospitality of Clare Turner and family.

Mixed day out.
Tonto and Nia came 4th in the 50cm. Then Nia ate sand because Mummy told her she needed to ride tighter turns for a rosette in the 60cm, she did and Tonto told her she could go on her own 🤣
Louis and Elin also picked up a 4th in the 70cm and then jumped a super clear in their first competitive 80cm 🥰

Busy day.
Tonto & Louis to Tweseldown for some excellent schooling. Then young Bert worked with Elin in a field, finishing with a canter and a jump. The day finished with the girls playing ‘Barrel Racing’ on Charm whilst I had a cup of tea 😃
Rubbish photos because poor Daddy has had to go back to work!

Clear Round jumping today. Nia practising keeping the canter and her reins short (this resulted in doing several jumps with only one hand on the reins), two clears at 50 & 60. Elin keeping the balance and her hands level but also having her first go at 80. Lovely clear at 70, 2 down at 80 (no photos due to the photographer (aka Daddy) needing to get home!). Thank you USJL, lovely day.

Mini Camp is over for another year. A super start to the day with Nia bagging a tack and turnout rosette then jumping a super fast double clear to win the jumping in her class. She even took on her beloved 'dressage is poo' test with a smile. It went downhill from there and we ended up in A&E, not from a fall but probably from the sun and not enough fluid on board. A long weekend turned into a VERY long weekend but hopefully on the way back up now 🤞

Talk about throwing them in at the deep end! In the search of courses that encourage good riding and development we thought we’d give the The Cotswold Cup at Barbury Castle a go. Elin was so mature in her approach and rode Louis so thoughtfully. 36 double clear - we’ll take that!

Todays aim: Don't let Tonto go Tonto speed - Nia's memory of Dene Farm wasn't pleasant after Tonto p****d off with her last year. Today we showed control and a big smile. Well done for listening old man!
