Massive thanks to Starks Equitation for providing a super fun finale to our Pony Care Series. The kids have learnt loads over the last couple of months and their knowledge was put to the test in some fun quizzes - a native pony map, footfall sequences, identify the poisonous plant and much much more.

Keen young riders braving the cold weather to learn how they can care for their four legged friends. Starks Equitation running them through ‘Foot & Shoeing’ and I discussed ‘Equine Learning Theory’ - so impressed how their young brains could invent some great positive & negative reinforcement training 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great session 😀

This evening's stable management at BARC Livery was bits, how they work, the different families and naming them. Followed by condition scoring a pony, weigh taping him and then assessing some horses in pictures. Lots of great questions from the girls and hopefully they learnt something! They all took away a Bova Specials UK Ltd weightape to keep an eye on their pony's weight.
