This position will ideally suit a 16/17-year-old who is currently studying dog grooming or animal care or looking for a career in those areas.
The role includes:
Assisting professional groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing dogs.
- Help in the preparation and clean-up of the grooming salon.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets and staff.
- Handle dogs with care and compassion, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and any special needs their pets may have.
- Help manage grooming equipment, ensuring everything is sanitized and in good working order.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client records.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a grooming or veterinary setting an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of basic dog grooming techniques and tools an advantage
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy pets.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
