This is my last photo of our beautiful Grace. It's been a nightmare weekend. On Saturday morning Chris found a lump the size of my hand under her left front armpit and she was in distress. I gave her metacam and tramadol which helped and we took her to the emergency vet. By the time we got there her cruciate ligament had gone on her back left leg. We brought her home expecting to take her for xrays this morning. However overnight her condition worsened the lump had grown and spread over her shoulder and along her back. Yesterday morning her front leg was unresponsive and she couldn't stand at all. Her medication was no longer helping the pain and she passed peacefully in the back of the van outside the vets.
We are both absolutely devastated and heartbroken and still in shock that our 6 year old girl who had no signs of anything wrong when groomed on Monday and was happy and bright on Friday is no longer here.
