As a very passionate hobbyist reading news articles like this both saddens and makes me angry.

I understand that some leopard gecko owners have to make the sad choice to rehome their gecko due to life circumstances or loss of interest. But why this?!

The thought of any of our surplus Leo's we choose to rehome ending up like this poor gecko breaks my heart.

It should never have to come to this. As a hobbyist, I'd always be willing to take one of my own back to live it's life out in a pet friendly home. I've rehomed many others before. There are also so many other passionate pet owners or animal rehoming centres who would be willing to do the same.

Please, please don't do this to any animal.

So sad.
