Well, I've just locked up and it appears that someone is chopping onions. Almost eight years to the day I opened, I can't believe that Rover's Return is now closed. I'm sure that we will stay in touch, I really hope so

Thanks everyone for trusting your Wonderful dogs with me and the team. It has been the greatest pleasure to know you and work with you. Thanks also for the huge generosity and kin

dness you have shown to myself, Aaron and Becky. I am going to miss you all, and your dogs more than you will ever know and I wish you all the very best for a happy, healthy and successful future. I have every intention of harassing you all for a meet up in the new year. With love and hugs to you all, Debbie xx

Our Story

Opened in February 2014, Rovers Return is a small, friendly, family run Dog Day Care Centre situated in Hoole, and managed by Debbie who has over 30 years experience of dog ownership. The centre is over-subscribed and generally very busy so booking in advance is recommended, however Monday and Friday often have spaces available. Priced at just £11 for one dog and £18 for 2 dogs per day; Rovers Return provides excellent value for money from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, so as such does not provide meals. Staff are happy to give food provided and will administer simple medication. The centre has been purpose built to accommodate dogs who do not like to be left home alone and offers them the opportunity to play, learn and rest with other dogs and people. Activities are organised throughout the day to keep your dog interested and active and to create learning opportunities. A walk is not guaranteed as sometimes the centre is too busy to take the dogs out on adventures. As the dogs run free we are not able to accept dogs with behavioural problems or aggressive tendencies and we prefer that ladies in season stay at home. We are in a residential area so unfortunately we cannot accept vocal dogs, a bit of barking is ok e.g. when visitors arrive but they need to be generally quiet when playing etc. The centre keeps up-to-date with and adheres to the CWAC licensing requirements plus Debbie undertakes regular online training in e.g. first aid, training methodology and dog behaviour etc. Rovers Return is licenced for home boarding and day care by CWAC, registered with Vets4Pets, has public liability insurance to the value of £5,000,000 and requires up-to-date vaccination records and registration information/contact in order to join. Once dogs have completed a 5 visit 'settling-in period' they may be invited to home board at a cost of £20 per night (meals included) when their 'staff' are on holiday. They take part in daycare during the day and in the evening become a member of the family and are never left alone. It is preferable that they travel well in a car as they accompany us on social outings and we often take them on trips at the weekend to the beach or forest etc. We are very happy for you to visit us during opening hours so that you and your dog can have a look and sniff around and meet some of the other dogs and have a chat about your needs. Please ring or text to let me know when you want to visit so we don't go out!
