Our fiery feline friends
Our practice was established over 50 years ago with the main surgery at Little Clacton originally being situated the other side of our entrance drive.
Our fiery feline friends
Rain or shine, you showed up! Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Clacton Airshow. We’re so grateful for your support and are thrilled to share that we raised £332 to go towards StreetVet & Sandys Farm
A huge thank you to Clacton Pier, Nature’s Own, Burgess Pet Care, Hills and our wholesalers for their generous donations. Your support helped us raise a significant amount. We’ll be reaching out to the lucky winners of our Dog/Cat & Rabbit hampers and family golf day at the pier competition soon.
Thank you to our team who helped over the two days and tackled everything that came their way!
Come and say hello!
We will be fundraising for StreetVet & Sandys Farm
Update** Please share and be aware!
They have informed us they will get everyone through into the practice but they are working quickly and moving at all times which means different roads are open at different times. Currently they will let you through via Holland Road but this might change.
We are trying to call all clients to make them aware.
Please give yourself plenty of time to get to the practice as we are on a time appointment system.
Many thanks.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our Administrative Head Nurse who has celebrated 50 years of service at Kinfauns!
Your Kinfauns family thank you for everything you have done over these 50 years! We appreciate you 🎉🎈🤩🥳

Let’s squash this myth 🔮
Dog breath isn’t always an ‘old dog thing’, which for many can be the assumed thing.
Just like us, cats and dogs can experience dental issues that require attention.
This , take a moment to assess your pet's breath. If it's less than pleasant, it could be a red flag for dental issues such as gum disease, plaque buildup, or tooth decay.
If you’ve noticed any new dental symptoms in your pet, contact us today. ↙️

🌞 Keep those in and outdoor pets hydrated this summer!
As temperatures rise, it's important to remember our furry friends need extra TLC too☀️
Summer walks are fun, but remember, they can turn dangerous quickly in the heat. Dogs are susceptible to heatstroke, which can be fatal.
Keep your furry friend safe by walking them during cooler times of the day and providing plenty of water breaks 🌞🐾
We know our cats love lazy afternoons in the sun or playful adventures indoors, but make sure your feline friends have plenty of fresh water to beat the heat 💦
Lets not forget the pets who live outside too! Plenty of shade and fresh water all round please!
Remember, thrive with plenty of water and shade🐾💧
😛 Happy Stick Your Tongue Out Day! 😛

Share your best tongue-out snapshots in the comments below and let's spread some smiles today! 🐾😝

Did you know that dogs can donate blood? 🐕🦺🩸
Many ill or injured pets need blood transfusions, so it’s important that practices have access to a ready supply of blood on hand.
To become a blood donor (which is a simple procedure), dogs should meet the following criteria:
✅Aged over one but under 8 years old
✅ Weigh over 25 kilos
✅ Be fully vaccinated
✅ Not travelled abroad
✅ Not on medication
For more information about joining the Pet Blood Bank, visit their website: https://www.petbloodbankuk.org/
While pets may be in our lives briefly, they leave a lasting impression in our memories🌈
We would love for you to share memories and photos in the comments on the pets you’ve had, loved and cherished. 💕

Cats + Christmas Tree = Paranoia 🤪 On a serious note, please keep any lights and decorations out of cat paw reach.
🔥 | Remember Remember… Check bonfires before lighting them in case wildlife such as hedgehogs have taken shelter amongst the wood. If you have one in your garden, PLEASE make sure it is completely out, especially before letting pets anywhere near the area. Unsuspecting animals (wild or pet) can run over any embers, which may still be hot, and get burnt feet!

#VeterinaryReceptionistAppreciationDay ❤️ Today is a chance to celebrate and champion all of our wonderful #veterinaryreceptionists and the endless amounts of hard work they put in to look after our staff, our practice and most importantly, your pets! 😺 We want to thank all of our receptionist for always listening to everyone, caring for all members at Kinfauns and making everyone smile non stop. Veterinary practices would be lost without a reception team and it is one of the hardest jobs in the practice. Thank you for looking after every client and their beloved pets who walk through the door. Your all ✨ 💛 Big thank you to our camera shy receptionist too 💛 This is your day 🥳
By keeping pets cool, we could save lives! Here are some top tips for hotter days ahead. #SummerReady
The term veterinary nurse is a contentious conversation in the vet world. Registered veterinary nurses and student veterinary nurses are registered with the royal college of veterinary surgeons. They are regulated by them in terms of their conduct and keeping up-to-date with training. The term veterinary nurse is a contentious conversation in the vet world as anyone can use this term, even if not qualified or registered. Efforts have been made to change this, and we fully support this; our nursing team deserves to have their title protected and for pet owners to know your vet nurse is fully qualified to look after your beloved pet. Registered vet nurses RVN and registered student nurses RSVN are always qualified and trained. #vetnurse #vnam #vnam2023 #EmpowerOurVNs #vetlife

Walking an elderly arthritic dog? Here are some top tips: Your dog doesn’t link hours of zoomies to pain later on, and it is up to us, the owners, to help them out. Keeping moving at constant regular intervals is essential to keeping stiffness down and getting the blood flowing. However, every dog is unique, so a tailored exercise plan is a great way to ensure your dog gets the correct amount of exercise without causing discomfort. Check out CAM, who have helpful advice on setting up an exercise plan: bit.ly/3kD8dxB
Grapes and their dried varieties are common at Christmas but toxic to pets. The dried varieties of these fruits are often found in mince pies, Christmas pudding, stollen and fruit and nut mix, so keep all these treats out of reach!
