Disliking the movie is valid. It isn’t a perfect film. 80% of Star Wars films are far from perfect films. This one particularly has things that when looking at things solely through the context of just the films alone is weird and aren’t well established/explained. But I’m context to the more hardcore fans who are well delved into expanded supplementary lore material it is a lot more clear. The flaws of the film are NOWHERE NEAR as bad or as much as the flaws in the each of prequels. The Force Awakens was made as nostalgia bait and was executed perfectly. The Last Jedi was made to turn the conventional Star Wars tropes on it’s head and be a deeper more focused story piece that applies heavily on a metacontextual level rather than just to the in universe lore. The Rise of Skywalker was made to culminate this trilogy alone while simultaneously be the culminating end to the previous trilogies which have hastily different tones and themes. Star Wars is a mess, but literally every long overlasting stretched out fictional franchise is messy and in some cases can be worse.
