At Best Friends Corby we've been taking care of your pets since 2007. Our small practice has a long standing friendly team who are dedicated to giving you and your pet a personal welcome and the best possible care. We look after everything from dogs and cats to rabbits, ferrets and budgies! With vaccinations and microchipping, as well as puppy and kitten packs, we're here to help you at the early

stages of pet ownership. We can also advise on worming and flea control and neutering, with our surgery being performed onsite to take care of routine operations. Our practice benefits from ample free car parking outside making it easy to get your pet to us whenever you need us. We are accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

We have had a large Male Tabby cat handed into us today that has sadly passed over the rainbow bridge 🌈 possible road accident.

He has a red flea collar and not been castrated. No microchip unfortunately either.

Is there any Cat fosterers in the local area that can take a cat?

We have tried to find her owners with no avail and the rehoming centres are full.

She's so so friendly and pretty but we are unable to keep her here!

🔺 KENNEL COUGH RISE IN THE CORBY AND KETTERING AREA 🔺

We are seeing a higher number of dogs in our Corby practice with Kennel cough.

The most obvious symptom of kennel cough is a forceful, hacking cough, which will often sound like your dog has something stuck in their throat. The cough can be dry and hoarse or productive, in which case it can be followed by a gag, swallowing motion or the production of mucus.

Kennel cough is NOT just transmitted in the kennels!

Kennel cough is airborne and highly contagious, which is why it has been spreading quickly. It is also transmitted with bacteria on toys, food bowls or other shared objects.

🐱 ANNOUNCEMENT🐶

Due to the restrictions being lifted on Monday we wanted to update our clients on our following protocols.. 🖊

There will be an NHS track and trace that clients can register with when they arrive, this isn’t compulsory. We’ve all seen them, the squiggly messy box in the middle of another box that we need to hover our phone camera over. 📱

Although masks are no longer mandatory, we politely ask all our clients to wear masks due to our small practice, resulting in very little personal space. 🏥

We will only be allowing 3 clients maximum into the waiting room at one time given the small space and 1 client per pet in the consult room with the Vet. 👨🏻‍⚕️

We understand that people are not going to be happy with this request but for us as an essential industry, we just can’t take any chances. The Environmental Department of health Will close us down for 10 days if track and trace notify us of a Covid outbreak within our practice. Thus, Removing us entirely from providing crucial medical care for your pets. 🐶🐱

We ask all our clients to look after themselves in the coming weeks, and we shall see you soon. 🌞
