Herbie🐾 this senior boy wasn’t the biggest fan of grooming, however this is his second pamper with me and now we’ve already made so much progress! He’s now on a 6 week schedule to keep on top of his curly coat and make the grooming process enjoyable☺️

Why is it recommended to have your dog groomed every 4-8 weeks? Here’s just 4 reasons!⬇️

1. 𝗛𝗬𝗚𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗘- regular bathing will prevent a build up of dirt and grease within the dog’s coat, and skin. This could otherwise cause skin irritations. During the groom, I look out for parasites including fleas & ticks, grass seeds, skin conditions, and signs of infection.

2. 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚- dogs who are under-groomed can suffer with a matted coat. This pulls on their skin causing discomfort and skin irritations. Regular grooming prevents this from happening, and leaves the dog with a healthy and tangle free coat.

3. 𝗗𝗘-𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚- particularly for those of you with the double coated breeds, e.g Labrador’s, huskies, German Shepherds, regular de-shed grooms are necessary to remove dead and damaged hair, to allow new hair to grow through. This allows for a healthy coat. Regular brushing also removes dead skin cells and prevents a build up of dirt and grease.

4. 𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗦- did you know, that long nails can cause a dog to become lame? That’s because it causes a whole body posture change, applying pressure to the joints. Overgrown nails can curl into the dog’s pad, causing discomfort and possible infection.

So that is just a few reasons why it is recommended for ALL dogs to be groomed every 4-8 weeks☺️ Thank you to all my lovely clients who help to stay on top of their dogs coat🐾

Gorgeous boy Bruce had to have a fresh start yesterday and was clipped quite short, however with regular 8 week appointments we will soon have him a teddy cut again! Look forward to seeing you again in 8 weeks Bruce🐾
