International WagaPuppas Pt.2 🐶🌍🇨🇻

When I first arrived at the campsite for . I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had 4 resident dogs who lived at the camp, Tilly (pictured), Beach, Kite and Golfio 🐕

Tilly and Beach were the oldest out of the 4 and were seen more often around the campsite, whereas Kite and Golfio being younger were a bit more mischievous and liked to go off roaming along the beaches.

As you can see, Tilly was definitely a foodie. At dinner time, she would make the rounds and ask everyone for their food by simply resting her head on your lap 😂 Here's a couple of pics of her caught in the act 😁

🎉 Newest addition to the WagaPuppas pack 🎉

Hi, everyone. Please join me in welcoming the newest member of the WagaPuppas pack, 14 months old, Border Collie, Kobe. He's a very energetic, intelligent, and loving young boy 😁

We had a nice drive down to the park where we had a walk and played tug of war. Then, back at home, we went through some tricks and then finished off with fuss and downtime 😃🐾

He loves his playtime. So, of course, I will be posting videos of us having fun. Make sure you look out for them 🤪

A bit of Bear 🐻 time 😁

Look who I got to spend some time with yesterday, Mr Chunky But Funky aka Bear 🐻

It's been a little while since I last saw Bear, so it was nice to take him for a walk and have some playtime with him. We played tug of war. However, he's a bit of a cheater and started using his paws as well as his mouth, which is not in rules. I told him next time I'm coming with a referee 😂

International WagaPuppas 🐶🌍🇨🇻

You may remember that in Septemeber, my partner and I went to Cape Verde to do volunteer conservation work with loggerhead turtles 🐢

On our way back from a night shift at Serra Negra, this little lady decided to join us for a bit of play but mainly to bite all the stuff we had with us 😂

My partner decided to name her Lucy, whereas I chose Sprite. Personally, I think Sprite suits her more.

Regardless, she was a cute little pup and is now officially a WagaPuppas pack member 😃🐾

🐾 ASK to PET 🐾

Here is Major modelling his new harness and lead from his winter season collection, titled ASK to PET 🐕‍🦺

I think it really suits him and is a good reminder that you should always ask the parent/owner before attempting to pet or approach someone's dog. Dogs can be very sceptical of people they do not know and the polite thing to do is ASK 🐾

You may remember when I did Eva's welcome post, I had mentioned that she is tennis ball crazy 🤪 I have to bring 2 balls with me because once she fetches one, she's expects the other to be thrown for her to chase 😂 she's literally non stop.

Night Night Bruce 😴

It was Bruce's daddy's birthday, so whilst his mummy and daddy were out celebrating, I went round to check in on Bruce and his big sister Lottie. This was the first time sitting with Bruce and I loved it 😁

He is just a big cuddly teddy bear 🧸

I actually felt so privileged when he came to lie next to me and even more so when he rested his big ol' head on my lap. It was nice to know he doesn't just see me as his walker but as a friend. I think we both were comforted by each other's company 🐾💙

You're such a good boy, Apollo 😁🐶

I recently found out my partners god daughter loves dogs 😃 so we arranged for her and her daddy to accompany me on one of my walks. They were lucky enough to meet Apollo. As soon as she saw him her face lit up 😁💡 She was a little shy, so she only stroked him a couple of times, but it was a good experience for her.

🎉 Newest addition to the WagaPuppas Pack 🎉

Hi, everyone. I would like to introduce this little beauty 7 months old, Eva 😍 She is a very energetic German Shepherd. She loves to play fetch and is totally obsessed with her tennis balls 🥎 😂

I'm sure I will post a video in the near future, so look out for her 🥎🐕 in the meantime, admire her cuteness 😍

🎉 Newest addition to the Wagapuppas Pack 🎉

Hi, everyone. Please welcome the newest member to the WagaPuppas pack, 1 year old Akita, Major 🫡 I've been wanting to walk ever since I first met him as a puppy. I was dropping off Dreamy when I saw him and his mum walking past and of course, I had to say hello and have a little play. He was only about 12 - 15 weeks old, so adorable. Luckily, he's always remembered me since then and whenever we see each other, we act like kids 😂

🐢 PROJETO 🇨🇻 BIODIVERSIDADE 🐢

From 19th September - 30th September
my partner and I volunteered at the on the island 🏝 of Sal, Cape Verde. This amazing project helps to conserve and restore the islands unique ecosystem. The programme we chose to participate in was with the Loggerhead Turtles during their nesting season, which starts in June and ends mid-October.

The camp is based on Kite Beach and also has a hatchery.

For 7 days, we worked through the night monitoring, collecting data, e.g., measuring, tagging, checking for parasites, as well as releasing baby turtles, deterring poachers, and relocating nests. We saw so many turtles, especially at Serra Negra, where we were slept by the sea 🏖 under the stars 🌟 It was an amazing experience that has given me a great sense of achievement.

I learnt so much about Loggerheads, the work that goes into conservation work and a bit about myself too.

I would like to thank everyone at Projeto Biodiversidade and a special thanks to Artur and Kiki, as well as the Field Assistants Walter, Anna, Nat, Manu, Raki and Victoria, you all taught me and Katie so much.
