Here is a clip of a loading issue we encountered a couple of weeks ago. A mare that would load up the front ramp - but would not load up the back ramp. With some ground exercises , we fine tuned her responses , and by the end of the session she was happily loading up the ramp , with no stopping , no rushing through and happy and relaxed !! Another great clinic - this time at Pembrey Equestrian Centre . 9 fabulous horses , all working on different things , from youngsters to more established horses and everything in between. Mostly sunny but there was a thunder storm thrown in after lunch 🙈 Thank you once again for having us and we hope to see you all again soon!!
We had a great day yesterday at South Wales Equestrian Centre , it was a blessing to be indoors out of the wind and rain. We had 6 horses forward ( didn't get a chance to video them all!) Some we had seen before , some were newcomers , but all made progress and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Thank you to South Wales Equestrian Centre for having us and their hospitality 😀
Another loading problem solved ! The lovely Ceasar was troublesome to load , refused to go onto a 3.5 tonne lorry , and also planted going into trailers too. With correct groundwork, and teaching him to come off pressure correctly, he soon got the idea, and is now loading happily into his new transport !!

We worked on groundwork with this boy, and taught him that it wasn't such a bad place to be after all!! His owners have kept up the good work , if you watch until the end you can see how he's getting on.

Well we've been a bit quiet on here video wise lately, with alot going on and the weather making tasks take extra time out of the day - but here's a video of a lovely pony we worked with recently.
This little mare had learnt to put her feet on the ramp of the lorry and go no further , or , she would go in so far to reach the food her owner had put in there for her , and then would not move over in order for the partition to be closed, and any encouragement would send her backing out.
As you can see from the beginning of the video , any attempt to push or put pressure on her to go forward , would result in backing out , and the more pressure put on , the faster she backed out .
By the end of the video we have a happy pony , loading like a pro, moving over behind the partition and munching on her haynet instead of trying to get out.

Unfortunately Air Ambulance had to land In our field next to the baby horses !! Lucky they had had some loud noise training!!

Air ambulance and baby horses ! Our babies are helicopter proof , shows the importance of training babies from an early age to be comfortable with loud machinery , not everyday you get a helicopter landing the paddock next door. Hope the patient is OK !
HORSE STUCK IN STABLE
Meet Dill, a 4-year-old ex-racehorse, who we were called to because they could not get her out of the stable! She would not come out even if the door was left open for her to come out in her own time. We established that she had a phobia of things above her, meaning she was worried about doorways and loading onto a vehicle. Due to the nature of her phobia, and the concrete surfaces at the original yard she was at, the decision was made to move her to our yard, so that we could work with her, Our approach involved using groundwork techniques to establish trust and communication with the horse. By taking small steps and allowing her to learn at her own pace, we gradually helped her overcome her fear of the stable door. With each session, her confidence grew, and the transformation was astounding!
Dill overcame her fear and is now living a happy life with her owner.
