There’s tears happening right now - Lorry one IS AT POLAND
All the donations handed in to us on Sunday are now where they need to be - after all the stress, all the phonecalls and all the bureaucracy… they bloody well made it to Polish customs a few minutes ago
Lorry TWO is 120 miles from Dover and lorry THREE will be in Ayrshire soon
YOUR donations will be in the hands of those who need it imminently!!

This wee duck lives on one of the ponds in Ayr. When this photo was taken earlier in the week she could fly and swim, but couldn't swallow anything due to this plastic ring which was stuck round her beak. She was trying to free it without much success. One of our volunteers is a courier for Hessilhead and she has been trying to rescue the bird, which has been difficult because it is naturally wary of any approach.

On returning for another attempt yesterday when it was almost dark, the duck was seen sitting under the same bush, looking very ruffled with a mark on her head feathers. Thankfully the ring had gone. Either someone else had managed to catch her or she had managed to get the ring out of her beak herself. Our volunteer left the duck with a big heap of grain which she was gobbling as fast as she could.

It is a poignant example from our very own doorstep of the litter problem impacting on our rivers and coastline. Human rubbish bringing harm to innocent creatures. Thankfully on this particular occasion it was a happy ending.

We will soon announce details of our 2022 Rotary and Ayrshire Coastal Path beach clean and we hope that lots of you will want to come along and help to remove as much rubbish as we can from our beaches. Stay tuned....

Due to our hens not laying many eggs over the winter, unfortunatley we wont have eggs available on our stand for the next few months 😊 thank you to everyone who has bought our eggs this year 😊

Something a little different on our smallholding this week 😊 we have had some seabright chickens given to us from a local in New Cumnock 😁
They are gorgeous little birds, very pretty & lay the cutest little white eggs ❤

These 2 cheeky chaps, really are greedy pigs 🐷🐷 sneaking into our chicken sheds & eating all the eggs 😭
No wonder they are getting so big already !! 🙈
