LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS…

The increase in last minute cancellations recently has been ridiculous. I’ve had cancellations 10 minutes before appointments because people have ‘forgotten’. I’ve turned up at houses and people aren’t home even though I’ve text them 20 minutes prior and they’ve responded saying “see you soon” but then forgotten I was coming and have gone out by the time I arrive.

A reminder, cancelling within 24 hours will be 50% of the cost, if this isn’t paid, no further appointments will be made until it is.

I am turning work away daily because I simply don’t have the capacity, so when people cancel last minute I’ve lost income and also turned potential customers away.

Please note to avoid spreading fleas around my van, any dogs found to have fleas W/C 18th December will not be blow dried. It is my busiest week of the year and I cannot cancel remaining dogs on the same day to deep clean the van as I will not be able to reschedule them for the same week.

I would recommend contacting the Vet for a good flea treatment as some over the counter ones appear not to be working.

Moving forward - Anyone paying via bank transfer.

Should payments not be made on the day and I have to chase twice, then future appointments will be cancelled and an upfront payment will be required in future. This year on several occasions I’ve chase people for 2-3 weeks for payment.

5 years! Who’d have thought it?

So many ups and downs but who remembers the old van? 😂 😮 and the problems it had! 🤯

Aircon in the van is a game changer! Please everybody, if I ask if I can plug two plugs in at your house, don’t be offended. My van can’t run a hairdryer and an aircon unit. It costs around 12p per hour and saves us cancelling grooms in this heat. The heat is too much for the dogs. So this is for their benefit too. Also yours, so you don’t get a wet dog come running back inside!

Reminders:

If an appointment is offered, it is pencilled in for 24hrs. If I don’t hear back, I’ll give it to someone else. If you don’t want it, please respond and tell me.

Payments: Please ensure all payments are made on the day of the groom.

Cancellations: Moving forward, should you cancel an appointment within 24 hours of an appointment you will be charged 50% for the cancelled groom. This is to be paid prior to another appointment being offered/booked. Last minute Cancellations have increased so please remember to put the appointments in your calendar/diary. A last minute cancellation is a loss of income for me.

HOWEVER, having had my phone switched off for two weeks, I’ve now found out that texts no longer deliver if a phone is switched off for over 7 days.
