Sorry once again for the delay in posting, it has been very busy the last month especially with taking a few days off.

On 10th June having your cats microchipped becomes law not an advisory the same as dogs.

If you have a cat that is not currently microchipped you will need to have them done by this date to avoid risking a fine.

I have microchips in and ready to go for anyone that would like to book their cat in 🐈

About us

I am a city and guilds qualified groomer with 16 years experience

I bought the business off of the previous owners in September 2016, back then we were in the little shop next door.

A little history about me - I have been grooming since 2002, after having some work experience in a grooming salon at college, I quickly realised that dog grooming was what I wanted to do, so I took a course and got myself a job where I trained as I worked. I ran the salon there until 2010 when we had to close down due to the owners ill health.

After a short break from grooming ( no grooming jobs in the area) I applied to work for Pets at Home in Newbury, 36 miles away from home but back grooming again so I was happy, then went on to manage 2 pets at home salons and trained multiple pet stylists up until late 2015 when I went on maternity leave ready to have my daughter Piper.

After 9 months off with her it was time to go back to work, but the opportunity arose to buy DTails UK, and with the help of my family I did so! I took over on the 1st September 2016.

With regular customers and new customers coming through the door, I took on Sophie who was doing work experience and then became a regular member of the team 3 days a week. In August 2016 Sophie became our full time apprentice and excels at her job every day.

In February 2017 Charlotte joined us as another stylist as the number of customers had gotten so high that I couldn’t fit everyone in!

In March 2017 We moved in to the bigger shop next door where business has continued to boom!

As a dog groomer you never stop learning. I have been to many seminars and courses including an up to date animal first aid and cat grooming courses.

I am also in the process of gaining another qualification,the ICMG (International Certified Master Groomer) that requires many hours study, practical and written exams, all of which I am doing around running the business, grooming, and having a 2 year old.

I wouldn’t have it any other way!!

In May 2018 I will be competing in a grooming competition where I will meet the dog I am grooming on the day, This dog will be from a rescue centre with the idea that a good groom will help the dog find a home!
