*** Hydro Assistant Vacancy ****
Are you a friendly person who loves interacting with dogs and their owners?
An opportunity has arisen to join our experienced canine hydrotherapy team at The Renew Centre. We are a referral vets and canine rehabilitation centre based in Uley, Gloucestershire, surrounded by beautiful farm land.
23 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, including some evenings. No weekends or Bank Holidays.
The role will involve aiding our hydrotherapists with the day to day running of the underwater treadmill, water testing and adding chemicals, helping with reception, taking payments, cleaning of the centre, and of course meeting and working with lots of lovely dogs! You may on occasion be asked to assist with the vets and other therapists. Full training will be given.
This is an active role, involving lots of bending and working on your feet.
Experience handling dogs and a basic knowledge of dog behaviour is beneficial.
Please email us your cv and covering letter, telling us why we would be mad not to consider you for this role.

โผ๏ธ Canine Injury Prevention with Warm-Up Exercises
Just like us, our dog's need a good warm-up before any physical activity.
Why It Matters:
Warming up your dog with simple exercises can prevent injuries, keep their muscles flexible, and ensure a safe, happy playtime.
Benefits
1. Reduces Risk of Injury: Prepares muscles and joints for activity, minimising strain.
2. Improves Performance: Boosts circulation and gets your pup ready to move!
3. Enhances Flexibility: Keeps your dog's body limber and agile.
If you are interested in a tailored fitness plan, please get in touch as we have a wealth of experience to share.
What a few days!! Set up on Weds afternoon at European Open Agility Champs, vetting in with the team on Thursdaysorting paperwork for travelling dogs all day yesterday, and then manning the stand for the weekend!
It's a common myth that people think dog's only wag their tails when they are happy and whilst it is true that dog's use their tails as a form of communication, it isn't always for this reason!

I think we might be a bit spoiled here at The Renew Centre, what do you think?
Ensure your dog remains happy and healthy during the summer months by following these crucial safety guidelines:
Maintain Hydration: Provide fresh water consistently to keep your dog well-hydrated.
Protect Their Paws: Hot pavement can cause burns. Opt for walks during Apply Sunscreen: Dogs can get sunburned too. Use pet-safe sunscreen on exposed areas.
NEVER Leave in a Car: Temperatures inside vehicles can rise rapidly and become fatal. Never leave your dog unattended in a car.
Prioritise your dog's safety and enjoy a safe, pleasant summer.
Planning a trip with your dog?
Ensure a safe and enjoyable journey with these essential travel safety tips:
ID & Microchip: Make sure your dog has a collar with an ID tag and is microchipped with up-to-date information.
Vet Check: Schedule a visit before your trip. Ensure your dog is healthy, has the correct medication and has current vaccinations if needed.
Safe Travel: Ensure your dog is safe and secure when travelling in the car. Just like people, they can get badly hurt if the car suddenly brakes and they aren't restrained. Loose pets can cause distractions or even accidents, and itโs also against the law. Your dog should be safely restrained in a crate, behind a dog guard, or with a harness attached to a seat belt.
Hydration & Snacks: Keep your dog hydrated and bring along their favourite snacks. Avoid feeding them right before travel to prevent motion sickness.
Frequent Breaks: If youโre driving, take breaks every 2-3 hours for toilet breaks and stretch time.
Never Leave in Car Alone: Cars can heat up quickly, even with the windows cracked. Never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle for any length of time.
We know how important it is to keep your dog moving, to sustain a good quality of life, and get them back on their feet again after an operation or injury. There are many reasons why your dogโs mobility may be affected, but we are here to help and support them with physiotherapy.
Whether your dog is suffering from a specific injury, recovering from surgery, or experiencing age-related issues, physiotherapy interventions can significantly improve their overall well-being.

Ensure your dog's safety around water with these essential tips:
Supervision: Always keep a close eye on your dog while they are near or in the water.
Exit Points: Teach your dog how to exit the pool or any water body safely.
Hydration: Provide plenty of fresh water to prevent your dog from drinking pool or lake water.
Rest Breaks: Allow your dog to take regular breaks to avoid exhaustion.
Temperature Check: Monitor the water temperature to ensure it's not too cold or hot for your dog.
Prioritise your dog's safety to ensure a fun and secure swimming experience
Many dogs have to undergo surgery at some point in their lives, and it is more likely that it will be an orthopaedic surgery like a Cruciate ligament repair in the hind leg. We offer the complete package with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, laser, massage and chiropractic to regain your dog's full strength.

Our wireless stethoscope has arrived - for more worried dogs, owners can now hold the stethoscope on the dogs chest while I listen in from a distance !
Dehydration occurs when the body expels more fluid than it consumes. All mammals, from humans to dogs, require adequate water intake to ensure their bodies function correctly.
Though many people understand that proper nutrition is crucial for physical and mental well-being (in both humans and pets), the significance of water is often underestimated.
Water plays a key role in lubricating joints, supporting internal organs, and regulating body temperature. It also facilitates digestion and helps cells absorb nutrients.
It's common for dogs to experience fluctuations in their body water levels throughout the day. Activities such as panting, breathing, urination, defecation, and evaporation through the paws cause water loss, which dogs replenish by eating and drinking.
But it is also important to know the signs of dehydration and know when to act on them. Always call your vet as soon as possible if you have any concerns about dehydration.
We are recruiting!! Please share or tag anyone you think may be interested. Thank you. xx
๐ Not only do microchips provide reassurance and peace of mind should your dog go missing, but it is also compulsory in England, Wales and Scotland that all dogs must be microchipped after eight weeks of age. Keeping their details updated on the database where you are registered is just as important. So here is your friendly reminder, if you have recently moved house, please take five minutes to update these details and continue that peace of mind.

๐ Meet Anna our Clinical Manager here at The Renew Centre. Anna has over 25 years of experience in veterinary practice, she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2007, which fulfilled her childhood dream. Passionate about #dogrehabilitation, she has been heavily involved in regenerative therapies such as Stem Cell, Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, and a range of other rehabilitation therapies. In her spare time, Anna loves spending time with her family and her own dog; Jessica. She finds herself, most weekends, either standing on the side lines of a football pitch, beside a go-kart track or soaking up the sun watching her boys play cricket. Anna is also a keen cricket player and plays for a local womenโs team that competes at the league level โ so, she is often covered in bruises and complaining about having sore knees ๐ #dogrehabilitation #dogtraining #dogrehab #caninerehab #caninerehabilitation #caninehydrotherapy #hydrotherapy #caninehydro #hydrotherapy #registeredcaninehydrotherapist

๐ Veterinary Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine, solid needles into the body for pain relief or, in some cases, to help the body deal with other diseases. ๐ It works through the nervous system blocking the pain messages and encouraging the brain and central nervous system to produce more of the bodyโs natural painkillers. In conditions that are not painful, acupuncture may help to reset the bodyโs normal functioning Please note - Acupuncture is very safe, in the right hands but legally it must be performed by a veterinary surgeon.
