The softer natured of the two.. Hazel has grown in confidence over the past few weeks and continues to show her loving and friendly personality, daily 😍

Amazing with children, elderly visitors and those needing a little more time and space.. Hazel is looking for a family environment Foster / Foster with a view to Adopt Home, that can continue with her socialisation and lead training.

Time & Catching up with the beautiful sisters 🐶 Part 1

Cookie has been thriving in "Boot Camp" - or should that be Paw Camp? 🤔 - and has shown herself to be an inquisitive, intelligent little lady, who loves to solve a Puzzle.

Due to her boisterous nature and the need for a confident, strong handler, Cookie is looking for a Foster / Foster with a view to Adopt Home, that can continue working with her Trainer here in Edinburgh.

Whilst she is Dog friendly, she can be over excited, so correct introductions would need to be made.. And whilst she has lived with young Children, a quieter or calmer family may be preferable.

Dana lost her beloved boy Loco on Wednesday 😥 As he crosses over the Rainbow Bridge, she would like to honour his memory, and life, by helping us continue our work 💕 Gifting Twin Crows the remainder of Loco's specialist food & treats and to complete a £50 Fundraiser.

WOW - What a crazy few days 🤯

We shan't bore you with the details, as we're firmly fixed on forwards, but let's just say ALL the Hiccups that COULD have happened.. HAPPENED.

Cookie & Hazel have now joined the Twin Crows Rescue and both girls are in wonderful Emergency Foster Homes.

They are taking some time to decompress and allow their personalities to come out - Cookie is definitely the more mischievous, high energy of the two, with Hazel highly into cuddles and snogs 💕

Both girls will be moving to longer term Fosters / Fosters with a view to Adopt in due course.. But for now, let's thank all those amazing Volunteers, Donators and Transporters for helping make this happen 😍😘

We have secured an Emergency Weekend Foster for the Girls along with amazing Volunteer Transport - Thank you SO much for your help and messages thus far.

We will need to ensure the Girls are Spayed and have everything they need. Due to this we will be setting up a small Funding Pot if anyone would like to contribute, follow along and keep the good vibes coming - link coming shortly 🐾💜

Introducing the gorgeous 6 month old Neo 💙
( nickname Theo )

Neo was advertised as an emergency due to not getting along with another dog in the household and a put to sleep appointment had been arranged.
This gorgeous boy has been in foster for a couple of weeks now and he’s proving to be a real superstar ⭐️

Neo is of mixed breed, father being a bulldog and mother a mixed breed so this lovely lad is a typical hienz variety, with super long legs and a lovely one at that.
Neo can be quite stubborn and will push boundaries if you let him so we are looking for a confident handler, to keep him in the right direction of life. Due to his size and bounciness, older children only please.

Neo hasn’t shown any signs of resource guarding around humans but has around his fosterers own dogs. Due to this we would like him to be an only dog.
Vaccinations are up to date but neutering hasn’t been done yet due to his age. A neutering contract will be set in place.
Neo is fully housetrained and even paws at the door to be let out.

Introducing the beautiful 10 month old Belle❤️

We are told that Belle is good with children, generally but doesn’t like loud noises, so older dog savvy children only please.
Belle has lived with another dog and is friendly outside with others but does prefer males.
Belle has not been cat tested.
Belle hasn’t shown any signs of resource guarding around humans but her body language does change if approached by another dog.
Belle has not been neutered yet due to her age and is not vaccinated.

Paws in Need are happy to assist with the safe rehoming of Belle.
Any rehoming will be done privately between the owner and adopter.

Due to the current situation in the UK and the uncertainty on how this upcoming ban will take place, we would like offer our assistance in helping anyone, who needs to rehome their “bully breed” dog safely.

In the likely event that this ban will move forward, any XL bully “type” dogs sat in rescues or pounds, will likely be euthanised!

PLEASE STOP MESSAGING AT THE MOMENT 10PM 17/9/23 we have over 50 dogs that we need to book in and it would be foolish to add more to the list at this stage.

We hope you will understand that as a charity we must focus our time and resources on prioritising XL bullies and their crosses. We will still offer help to other breeds and species but please appreciate none urgent neuters will be pushed back. We are almost booked up until the end of November now. We are planning extra neutering availability with our vets but logistics need working out. Part of the licence condition is that dogs are neutered, microchip details are correct, ID tags are worn, dogs are muzzle trained and have 3rd party insurance. We will be providing details of who offers insurance and information on muzzle training. Let's prepare for the worst but hope for the best 💙🐕

PLEASE READ AND SHARE 🐾🐾

I think most of you who follow me know by now that I don’t make rash statements or jump into things with both feet. I have been carefully watching all that has been going on and have been trying to give some assurances to all the owners who have contacted me because they are worried about what may happen to their dogs.

Firstly, let me say I know no more than anybody else about what may happen in the future but hopefully the following information and suggestions can help.

Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 is the piece of legislation that deals with what are commonly referred to as ‘the banned breeds’

The Pit Bull Terrier type,
The Japanese Tosa
The Dogo Argentino
The Fila Brasiliero

The above four are the only ones currently on the list. IF the government decide to add another to the list then there is a consultation process for them to go through before they do so. At the present time the fact that the above four are ‘banned’ does not mean that you cannot own one but to do so you have to go through an exemption process which is a hearing at a Magistrate’s Court. The exemption means that you have to comply with a number of conditions that are laid down in law, lead and muzzle in public, and third party insurance are just three of these. There are a number of others.

Many people are asking what can I do to keep my dog safe, here are a few simple suggestions;

* Make sure you have some training in place with your dog, and keep it up.
* Short sessions daily, only for a few minutes at a time and make it so that your dog enjoys it.
* Ensure your dog has a good recall - if it doesn’t keep it on the lead.
* Only let your dog off when you have assessed it is safe to do so.
* Utilise private dog fields both for fun with your dog and for some training sessions.
* If you haven’t got third party insurance - GET IT - look at Dogs Trust membership.
* Do muzzle training with your dog - see the videos from the major welfare charities about how to do it the positive way - make it a rewarding experience - DO NOT force the muzzle onto your dog.
* I have said this before - take a Go Pro (other brands are available) with you when you exercise your dog. Switch on at the start of the walk, switch off when you get home.

CAESAR IS RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK

We have offered to help with the safe rehoming of this gorgeous 10 month old Daniff (mastiff x dane) boy called Caesar 💙💙

Caesar is cat, dog, rabbit and horse friendly.
No food aggression or guarding issues.
He walks lovely on the lead and knows basic commands.
Dog savvy children only please.
Caesar will come with a neutering contract to be done at a later date due to his age.
